I think its best sometimes for the school to do it but with our permission cause Im pretty sure the kids these days know EVERYTHING already. They hear things from thier friends. I think that it would be best as a supplement to learn from school after what you tell your child. Also there are some kids out there like ME who didnt want to hear it from thier parents! I was embarrassed to hear my Mom talk about sex so I would walk away. She would shove Christian related sex books under my door. Sometimes theyd rather hear it from someone other then thier parents. I found out yesterday that my idiot husband got a gym membership back in Jan and he never even went to the gym. He finally told me about it and I joined up with him. Today we went down and had our free session with a personal trainer and boy IT FELT GOOD to workout. Wish it wasnt so damn expensive to have a trainer but oh well. I plan on going back tomarrow. So we gave children's tylenol and teething rings and what not to help alleve the pain. I always hated that time cause I dont like seeing kids in pain. He has had problems the past few years not doing his school work or homework for that matter. He has been in Charter schools since he started school. That didnt help. But this year he has been put into public school cause I didnt like what was happening in charter. So about a month ago they decided that he needs to be tested for IEP and special ed. Yes by law they have to help the student. Its the disability act. I wasnt happy about it only cause I had a bad experience with public school but its the best thing that can be done. I would look up IEP and disability laws for schoolaged children in your state and print it out and take it to his school and say LOOK! you were suppose to help him. You failed him. AND not always is it a food allergy or a dietary problem. Its a chemical imbalence within the brain. My husband suffers from ADHD. Its a genetic disorder. I know cause I have tried the food route long before in the process of having my son diagnosed as ADHD! Have you had your son tested for ADHD? Is he on any sort of medication? My husband just got put on medication for his ADHD and also sees a shrink. DONT let this go much longer. As they say nip it in the bud Now or he will have a lifetime of problems. My husband started drinking when he was 16 and he just quit last year at the age of 36. He wasted his life on alcohol because nobody did anything about his ADHD. I worked on my chest muscles and upper body today. Ya Im sore but I feel great. I will give it a rest tomarrow and Tues only cause tues I go back to work. I will go for a walk tomarrow. keriaz Joined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1719	Title: ADHD Posted: 8 months ago My husband has ADHD and has been put on Wellbutrin at 300mgs. It does double duty for him. Hes clinically depressed and had ADHD so it takes care of the both. He has been doing very well with it. My son was on Adderall XR and I was pleased with the results cause it helped him alot. I just couldnt afford it once I got off of welfare. My son was seeing a councelor and that helped some. I need to get my son back on medication now cause he is failing in school and is so bored with things in class. Stay away from the Ritlin. Stuff is no good. Yes it has been used as an overkill on other problems but that is why it is nessessary to find a reputable phycologist and have this child diagnosed. Yes this is a real problem. It is a genetic problem and I can date it back to our Great Great Great Grandfather Daniel Boone who back then couldnt concentrate on one thing and couldnt sit still long enough. Problem with kids who have ADHD is that they are extremely bright. They get bored very easily in classes. My husband is ADHD finally and is getting the help he needs. Im sorry that your nephew is bi-polar and I deal with alot of those kinds of people in my career as an EMT. They NEED medication to function. Those are worse then just being ADHD. They go from one being extremely happy to being suicidal the next minute. That is a chemical imbalence in the brain. There is so much Dr's have yet to learn about the human brain. MASH (I know it started in the 70s but ended in the 80s) 2. Knight Rider 3. Simon and Simon 4. 21 JumpStreet (my fav) 5. Cant think of the last one.
