Well the Day is nearing everyone!!! Cant wait! I have put out the word once again for anyone who wants to donate to a worthy cause!! Alzhiemers is an awful awful mind-robbing disease. I hope and pray someday soon that they will find a cure or vaccine for this. In my line of work as an EMT I have seen so many people with Alzhiemers and other mind robbing diseases. It is so cruel that our own bodies are out to destroy us with out us being able to really fight back.

I couldnt imagine forgetting who my children are or where I live. Cry Then it just makes you forget everything. Guess another way to put it is Alzhiemers shuts down the brain and the body keeps going. My Grandfather had it and it was complicated by Sundown Syndrome. Never heard about it until he was diagnosed with it. What Sundown is, is this... When the sun sets the mind gets really agitated, the person cannot sleep at night or very little and the person gets more confused. They say that those who have it thier life span with this disease is limited to about 2 to 3 years. My Grandfather died 2 years after finding out. He just basically wasted away. Glad I didnt see him in the end.

My Grandmother (my mom's mom) died a month and a half later from Dementia which is another form of Alzhiemers. She just got really forgetful, hollered out like she was in pain but wasnt and basically her body was just waiting to die. She got to the point where she just gave up walking all together. She could walk but decided not to. Both were 89 years old.

Thankfully they both went peacefully in thier sleep. But I am sure they were scared inside. Trapped in thier own mind not knowing who they are or where they are. How horrible.

Please if you cant donate to the cause think good thoughts for me and the other people out there walking this Saturday.

Might try tho... after a few days of him having no fish what so ever try adding in a tuna sandwich. See what happens. Just be careful.

I just wanted to take a moment and say Hello and Welcome to Mommytalk. I am just one of the members here but I have really enjoyed being with other parents who are going through the same things I am! Smile

Abit about myself! I am a mother of two kids. My son Phaylin is 13 years old and my daughter Caitlynn is 11. I am also an EMT working for Southwest Ambulance. Been married for 15 years now.

Just wanted to Welcome to all that are new here. You all will learn alot and have lots of fun here too!

For everyone who has a daughter are you ready for the life changes that is bound to happen with her?

My daughter is 11 years old and yes it has started about 3 months ago. Im just not ready for it but I have no choice in the matter! I wasnt home when the monthly stuff happened! Daddy was home and it freaked him out.

How do you handle this and other life changes of a young girl???

Talk about a scary part of life. How many of us really remember that stage in our lives? Lord I dont even remember growing the boobs let alone the monthy stuff.  She is embarrassed about the monthly stuff but I told her this is something that will be happening every month for the rest of her life pretty much. I tried to explain to her that her body is just getting ready to have children someday. Shudder the thought.

Sheesh. I knew someday this would happen but I just never paid any attention to it.

I want to learn Tongan along with my children. Its a wonderful language and there are more and more tongans here in the valley.  I know that Spanish is a language that is being taught but there is more out there then just that. My kids are already learning it in school.

Yes there is a vaccine that is available for HPV. But the only catch is you have to be between the ages of 9 and 22 or havent had sex yet. So its best to think about getting it before our daughter have sex for the first time. Mine wont be until she is 45. LOL.

I live in one and have yet to see it happen. I have lived here since Jan.  I know my other neighborhood had them all the time.
