Well Christmas has been too comercialized. People are mean and plain rude during this time of the year. Makes me sick.  I saw on the news about the Day after Thanksgiving all those people in line. Shoving and actually saw a man hit a woman. How pathetic. I know there are good deals out there they day after but Im not stupid enough to be out there. I worked that day and I had a call at 5am at Khols for a unconcious woman. Those moronic people would not move out of the aisle for me pulling a gurney to get to this lady.

Thats the only way Id be in the store the day after.

My name is Keri and I have two kids. My son is 14 and my daughter is 12. I work fulltime outside the home as an EMT for a local ambulance company. I love it.

When I was growing up I use to watch the Thanksgiving day parade. Wait for my Grandparents to show up so we could all eat by 5pm. When I got married I would have two dinners. One with my Inlaws and one with my family. Now that I am working I dont get the privilage of being at home. The past two years I worked Turkey day.

One year (2000) I actually made Thanksgiving dinner for my inlaws. It was good. That year my Father inlaw ended up passing away a month later. So it was good that I did that.

1. Im alive and survived this stupid cancer

2. My kids.

3. my job.  I enjoy doing what I am doing.

4. my dogs. Without them Id probably never laugh.

I think you are just fine at your age. If you are mentally, physically and financially ready for a baby then go for it.  Honestly I dont think what happened before should stop you now. I had my son when I was 20 and my daughter when I was 22. Now they are 14 and 12. I wanted mine young enough to be able to keep up with them.

If you feel you are ready GO FOR IT.

At least you know where your first born child is. And someday will know you as the Mother not the Aunt. Im adopted and I think I turned out reasonably normal.

I dont like Xmas shopping now anyways let alone on Black Friday. Too many nuts out there. Rather do all my shopping online. Walmart has some good deals on clothes.

I have always enjoyed decorating inside and out for the holidays. It all starts with Halloween. I go nuts there and it just snowballs into Xmas!!

This year I just dont seem to care too much. But I decorated anyways. Still need to finish my tree then I am done.

So sorry that you are having a difficult time today. Just know you are not alone in all this. I have alot of people that I have lost over the years and its not easy during the holidays. Just try to remember all the good times that you all had like your Mom playing bridge with her friends. And its ok to have a good cry no matter what the time of day it is.

Im having some hard times myself here with my marriage that is ending cause I am not happy at all. So know that we all have pain and sadness in us. But remember there is a light at the end of the dark tunnel.
