Honestly this isnt a new story. Kids have been doing this kind of stuff for a long time. Gotta watch with the Coricidin HBP. Thats the stuff for people who have high blood pressure and a cold. Kids will take anything and try anything if given the chance. We need to teach our kids that this stuff will kill them one way or another.

Also along the line of kid games ie. choking oneself. Heard of the game chubby bunny? Its where a kid stuffs thier mouths with as many marshmallows as possible and trying to say chubby bunny real fast. Many kids have choked to death from it.

What ever happened to the telling of ghost stories or playing the game light as a feather stiff as a board while at sleep overs??

Also another thing to try is tilting the mattress slightly so the baby's head is propped up abit. Helps ease breathing.

BE CAREFUL in using Vicks VapoRub. That could burn the baby or they could get it into thier mouths. They do have baby vaporub which you could use.

If I could afford to Id do it right now. Last time I was on a plane was earlier this year for my Grandfather's funeral up in Washington.  If it wasnt so stinking expensive Id do it more often. This year was the first time I have flown with all the new restrictions and such. Havent flown since 1999. Back then it was so much different. My hubby was able to go with me to the gate and such. Not anymore.

About that cold!!! Have you tried to take ZiCam??? It helps ALOT!! I use it all the time. Also try using Saline nasal spray. That kills all the germs.  Remember to wash your hands alot and try to use that hand gel that kills the germs.  Take your vitamins with extra Vit C and garlic pills.  That should help you. I do all of those. I have had only one head cold this year and it was gone in 3 days. Give it a try. Cant hurt otherwise.

Hello and good evening all!

Well I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and are begining to think of the new year! As an EMT and a Mother of two I want to take a moment to remind people to be very careful on New Years Eve. There are alot of extra people out that night and alot of them are drunk. Every year there are lots of people who are either seriously injured or killed on our roadways in America due to idiots who think they can drive home cause they think they feel fine. Please this coming Sunday if you choose to drink get a designated driver, a taxi cab, your parents to drive you home. I want you to get home in on piece and not kill someone else on the roads.

I unfortunately have to work that night and Im expecting NOT to sleep at all that night. I worked it last year and I didnt sleep then. So please if you dont want to see me scraping you up off the road or peeling you out of your totaled car or if you dont want to have a cop at your door saying Im sorry your child is dead. DONT DRINK AND DRIVE!!!

I went to a party, Mom,
I remembered what you said,
You told me not to drink, Mom,
So I drank the Coke instead.
I felt really proud , Mom,
The way you said I would.

even when they said I should.
I know I did the right thing, Mom,
I know you're always right.
now the party is ending, Mom,
and everyone is driving out of sight.

As I got into the car, Mom,
I knew I'd get home in one piece,

so responsible and sweet.
I started to drive away, Mom,
but as I pulled onto the road,

It can be hard sometimes going on calls when it is a child. I have gone on several. And having people yell and call me names isnt easy but in this career you cannot let any of it affect you. If the child died yes it would bother me some. Havent dealt with that yet. Had a call of a pediatric code but thankfully it was wrong. Child had hit his head when he fell off the couch and onto the tile.

Im glad so far people are taking the appropriate actions to prevent driving drunk.

My hubby has been working on quitting with the smoking. He has been using the patches. Also another thing he has done is switch brands of cigarettes. For instance he use to smoke Camel Special light 100s and now he smokes Marlbro reds. He says that it is so nasty that he can only get a few drags off of one.  Shoot here in AZ its getting so stinken expensive. Over $5 a pack.

I also agree that if he really wants to quit he will succeed but as long as he does it for himself and no one else.

My hubby is at the Dr right now getting meds to help him quit drinking. Its what he wants.

Its impressive to know that someone out there is willing to do that! I have done some things to help others in emergency situations outside of work but nothing like that.
