I LOVE flip flops! I have a pair of the cheap rubber ones for outside and then I have a couple cute pairs from payless for when I go out and about.

I checked out your link Pez and they have some cute shoes!  I clicked on the Snake Charmer shoe and thought there was an error on the pricing $20,000. I was like WHAT!!! But then I saw it had real diamonds on it. Laughing http://www.moszkito.com/womens_sandals/w_snak ...

I wonder how many people actually buy those??

The past couple of weeks have been very crazy around here. We just recently had family in from out of town, we have been fighting a stomach virus, and now were are thinking of moving. So I have been very stressed out lately and just not feeling real great. So tonight while searching for the Taxi song from Noggin I ran across this blog which really made me laugh...something I really needed, so I thought I would share it with all of you.

Pledge Week

Just when I thought I would have to voluntarily commit myself for having to clean up yet another poop off the kitchen floor (don't ask) and listen to my daughter sing that contagious "Taxi Taxi" song from Noggin for the 600th time at the top of her lungs, I realized that they're not training us to be secret agents .... I mean who really wants to be a secret agent these days?

But sorority pledge? I'm all about that $#%*!! ....

Seriously though, there's really no other way to explain the first few years of parenthood other than a combination of purgatory, CIA training, and pledge week.

Now I was never a sorority girl in college, mainly because we had no sororities, just geeky clubs and a bunch of snotty jocks. But I've seen a pledge week or seven in my day, and I admit to being one of the weirdos wearing a beret and knee socks who would stare at the girls running around in their bright pink track suits and pig tails trying to find the appeal of it all.

And now, here I am, running around in my gaucho pants and ponytail like a rest of the moms on this planet with no "cool girl" status or toga parties at the end of the tunnel, still trying to find the appeal of it all and wondering if this is just part of some demented sorority pledging ritual.

I mean, there are way too many husbands out there that think life is a fraternity, so maybe this is not that far off.

Sure, we're not being forced to listen to some snooty girls named "Morgan" and "Britt" scream obsenities at us. Try enduring a three-year-old temper tantrum courtesy of "QuinLAN" (as she says it) in the middle of a Target checkout aisle or a teething, hungry, gassy baby at 3am for a days on end.

I actually think that's considered hazing.

And while there are no wooden paddles to threaten us, there are brooms, swiffers, and spatulas that when wielded by an extremely quick-handed 18-month-old will make you beg for that paddle.

And fine. I know scrubbing a toilet with a toothbrush reallllly sucks, even if there is a banded sisterhood awaiting at the end of a very long week. But $#%*!! .... I've cleaned up vomit, piss, and poop with my own bare hands, let alone a toothbrush, and there's no one waving a cool pin or necklace or whatever the hell they get in front of my face.

So when your toddler refuses to speak in anything but "uhs" for a solid two months and your preschooler insists on screaming at the top of her lungs when the wind decides to blow in a different direction (seriously wind, what the #!%*!! ... is your problem?), just think.

Maybe this is your pledge week.

And while the parties may not be as fun or as frequent, the sisterhood is just a click away.

So I have a dilema and I need everyones advice. Unfortunatly we have to move from our home into an apartment, and will be doing so within a month. With bills and everything else so high we can no longer afford our home so we decided moving out and doing a short sell would be better than foreclosing. My problem is that the most nice affordable apartment we could find was a little further than we had hoped for. We only plan to live there for a year, and then possibly move up to Washington. I dont want to transfer my kids out of their school into another if we are going to be moving again. So I was planning on driving them to their school for a year until we move again. With gas prices so high I have now been rethinking my decision. Per mapquest it is a 4 mile distance and a 9 minute drive. It doesnt seem like much but with gas so expensive it'll eventually add up. My biggest concern is disrupting my kids even more than what we already are. DH says I should just switch them to a closer school. My daughter doesnt want to (she'll be in 4th grade) but my son says he would like to go to another school. So what should I do?? Should I just drive them to their original school and deal with the gas prices or should I switch them to a closer school and hope they'll adjust???

I need all the advice I can get....I am just so torn!

Thank you so much for all the great advice!! I think what I really needed was to hear what another mom thought. My husband was just saying to have them switch schools because its "easier"...I guess a typical guy thing to say. For me I was trying to think about all the other adjustments the kids will be going through....leaving our home, our pets, our neighborhood, and I just didnt want to add another thing on top of that list. This is going to be a temporary move so no doubt about it they would be switching schools again. Im sure it wont be easy or fun going back and forth everyday but my gut is telling me this is the best decision.

Thanks again for all of your help!!!

Mmm, I love hot dogs. I like mine either grilled or cooked in the skillet. I like ketchup, mustard & jalapenos. Or just plain with chili and cheese...Yummy!!

Ive actually never been to the beach so I just answered the questions on what I would assume it would be like.

What the Beach Test Says About You
You are a people person. You don't need a lot of privacy or space in your life. It's likely that you grew up in a loud, big family.

You have cold feet when it comes to love. You have a lot of uncertainty until you convince yourself to dive right in.

You are deeply passionate about several things in your life. You're not passionate about much... and the few passions you have are truly obsessions.

Your sense of humor is intellectual and obscure. Only really well educated people get your jokes.

Totally not me...haha!

Im with Val. I only had 1 baby shower and no one (except my sis in law) got anything off the registry...so it seemed pretty pointless to even have one.
