Welcome! There are lots of great people here at mommytalk for you to talk to. I dont have any pointers on dealing with homework and 3 kids, I can only imagine what a pain that would be. But I am also a young mom with 3 kids, so I do know how hectic things can get. If you ever need to vent feel free.:D
Talk to you later.

No. I was planning to, but after Lost I was just so tired. Was it that good? I had seen on the view they had Scott Wolf? and from the scene they had shown it looked pretty good. Hopefully they'll replay it this weekend.
Did anyone see that new show last night called The Nine????? I think I am HOOKED!:D Heather

I was wondering that same question. Did they rape her?? Her hands were all cut up from the handcuffs.
Also the new lady that kept talking to jack, what was her deal at the end. I wonder what her and the bad guy have planned for Jack??
The whole show drives me CrAzY!! After every scene there seems to be another question. It drives me crazy, but I cant stop watching it. Plus I wish they would chill out on all of the commercials. I heard on the radio that the show was a total of 32minutes and the commercials were 28minutes.
. Also, where was Kate taken after the lunch with the bad guy? That man said something like looks like they tore you up a bit? Who was they? What a show. It's truly captivating. Heather

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Maybe try the science museum. Over summer I had wanted to take my kids to the Gross exhibit. They kept having that funny commerical where they sing a song about burps, and boogers. The kids thought it was so funny. But the price to get in was too expensive. You had to pay 1 fee to get into the museum, then another fee if you wanted to see the special exhibit. With 3 kids plus 2 adults that can get real expensive. So we ended up not going. If thats something you can afford they are always having special things going on there.

Oh yeah thats a good one. Jacob also needs the fan and a/c on, but he needs it to be cool. After he was born it took me awhile to figure out that he is just naturally hot. He would toss and turn in his swing and I would notice him sweaty. Once I would turn the a/c on and it would start cooling off he would start to settle down. He is still like that. At night or during his naps, if it is too warm for him he cant get comfy. My daughter is completely opposite. She is just naturally cold. I also noticed if we had a busy day Jacob was a lot more irritable come nap time. He would be tired but he couldnt go to sleep and when he did it wasnt for long. It came to a point where I dreaded any change in routine. Going to the pediatrician was a hassle because I knew once we got home Jacob was going to be cracky and hard to get to sleep.
Eventually you just learn what your baby needs through trial and error.
we turn the oscillating fan in the room on high just to create white noise and to block out other noises but he can sleep without it even with the birds screaming their heads off in the other room. we started using the fan because he wouldnt nap very long and we use it at nite when we sleep so he is used to hearing it, plus he needed some extra cooling when he was wearing his band seemed to help somewhat. Thats a good thought. The bad guy did say to Kate while at breakfast that the next 2 weeks will be hard. Maybe he means they will be doing tests on them??
Last night when the show started and it showed the "others" living regular lives I thought they were regular people. Then after the plane crashed and they showed they were living in some little community I was like what. Also if they had their own little community why are they now living on the beach and looking so dirty. Also where in the heck did they get the strawberries, and all that other nice stuff he had on the table at the beach??
Aagghhh!! So many questions!! Okay, im gonna stop thinking about it. I guess I'll just have to wait until next week.
That's crazy. That many commercials! I thought it wasn't that long. The show drives me crazy too, but at the same time, I can't get enough. I was so excited for the season to start and the first scene showed why. I think that man and woman are married. I am not sure what they have planned for Jack, looks like they were trying to break him and they did. If they are studying people, maybe they were trying to find out what it takes to break someone. I think we won't really get answers for another three shows or so, which is going to drive me bonkers! Heather

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I saw this on msn.com and was wondering what everyone thought.
With everything that has happened with kids and adults walking into schools and shooting it may sound like a good idea, but I think there has to be a better solution. Providing a teacher with a gun, is almost asking for something bad to happen. A student could somehow find a way to get to that gun and possibly hurt themselves or someone else, or even the teacher could do something with it. With all the things you hear about some of these teachers these days, Im not too sure I would feel comfortable knowing my childrens teacher had a gun.
I'm sure there has to be another way to keep children and teachers safe at school. I dont know what that way would be, but I'm sure there has to something.
So what does everyone else think??

Whatever works for you and your baby is best!!:D
I see nothing wrong with keeping to a strict schedule. I hated disrupting my sons schedule, and when family told me I was spoiling him and letting him rule the house I didnt care. I'm the one who has to take care of him, and if keeping to a strict schedule works for him and me then thats what I'll do.
Do whatever you feel is best!!I know that there will be a lot of dissent to this - but I did a schedule and I really felt like it worked. We still keep a pretty good nap routine, and she still eats three meals a day and two snacks, but I vary the times for when she requests food/sleep. I was originally (at around ~6-8 weeks, after she wanted to eat every second) doing 7, 10, 1, 4, and 7 o'clock feedings. I know it sounds really strict but I think that it really helped. She's always so happy and she usually sleeps 11-12 hours a night! Anyway, I know that a lot of people don't like the strict scheduling, but it worked for me! As they say "mamma knows best":D

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I had the same question myself last year. I have 3 children and with my 1st two I never had them get flu shots, and I myself never got a flu shot. So when my 3rd son was born I kept hearing how bad of a flu season we were going to have, so I decided to have him get the shot. Now, I know that there is no connection with having the flu shot and getting sick, but I swear he was sick from November to April. So, this year I have decided not to have him get a shot. Although hearing that your child is in daycare getting a flu shot might be best. My son stays home with me, so he isnt as exposed to as many germs.
Ask your doctor what they recommend, then do what you think is best for you and your baby.
Hope this has helped.
