azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Now a days it seems like divorce is just an easy way out for some people. Marriage doesnt seem to be taken as seriously as it used to be. And thats sad. Having a party for a divorce seems a little weird to me, but like previously posted I guess if you had a horrible marriage with an abuser or cheater it makes a little sense. It still sounds weird to me, but under certain circumstances I guess I could understand. Heather

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I dont wear any jewelry. Before the kids were born I did. I loved wearing rings and ear rings. After my daughter was born my rings didnt fit anymore, and i just never got anymore. Occasionally I'll wear a necklace. Even though I dont wear any I still LOVE jewelry. Heather

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I also havent had the "talk" yet with my kids. They are 6 and 7, but they have made suggestions and certain actions have shown me that we need to sit down and have some kind of discussion about it. I have put a couple books on hold at the library, and will soon be sitting down with them and reading then discussing it. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Wish me luck!! Heather

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago My son Jacob really hated being on his tummy. He didnt roll over until he was around 6 months. 1 thing that helped was laying him on his tummy and then me laying on my tummy right in front of him. I also put his favorite toys at the time in front of him too. I also sometimes would just let him cry. The madder he got the more he would try to flip himself over. I think that is what really helped him learn. When he first did it he had a look of shock on his face. I was so excited. I was clapping and praising him and that helped him by seeing how excited I was. It took some time before he really got the hang of it, but he eventually did. Just continue what you are doing, and ask your dr if they have any suggestions. Just being consistant will help a lot, then she'll roll over when she is ready to.Heather

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Dont worry she'll start cooing soon! Every baby is different, and develops at different stages. Some babies are quick to begin cooing, crawling, walking, etc while others just need a little more time. I would just keep bringing it up at your dr visits just to keep the dr informed. In the meantime make cooing sounds to her, babies love imitating, and maybe the more you do it next thing you know she'll start to copy you!!Heather

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago LOL, my daughter was also a big nose picker. Not only did she pick, but she wiped it on her bed, walls, and carseat. She stopped about 5 months ago, and she is 7. The last straw was when i saw her wall!! It was horrible, I first took a picture and then made her wash it all of. The nose picking and wiping had been going on for a couple years now, and I told her if she continues I will take this picture and let all of the kids at school see what you did. I felt kind of mean, but nothing was working. And I had enough!! So as far as I know, she hasnt been picking her nose, or at least she isnt wiping it everywhere and she isnt picking in front of me.Heather

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago All 3 of our kids dont really look like either one of us specifically. There are some pictures with my daughter Alexis that she kind of looks like I did when I was young, and my oldest son looks more like my brother (weird) because he has really dark hair and eyes, and our youngest just doesnt look like he fits in with us at all. He has really light hair, and its really fine. The one thing that my daughter and oldest son got from me are my dimples. My daughter has 1 on her side cheek, and my son has 2, one on both sides. As for personality, I would say they are mixed. My daughter can be really spacey, like her daddy. And she can also ask a ton of ??'s just like I do. Steven is very emotional and sensitive like I was at his age, and very into building and fixing things like his daddy. Jacob, again is the exception. He is just his own little person. I would have to say his pickyness with food, is just like me. Heather

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Wow, it seems like 2 is the popular gae. I have two different ages. About 3 months when they are cooing and really starting to discover all the things around them. Also about 1 1/2. Thats when jacob and my daughter Alexis started trying to talk. The words they come up with are so cute. We always tell Alexis about how she called shoes "Shu Shoe" and Jacob calls his paci "oosh". I love it. I wish they would stay that way forever!!Heather
