azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I have been having a problem with our pediatrician's office. I had to take my son in Tuesday regarding his chipped tooth. The doctor said she needed to get a referal for him to see a pediatric dentist. I waited for about 15 minute in the office, before I had to go ask someone what was going on. They said "oh, no one has come out and said anything yet" I said no, so she went into the office came back and said the nurse was waiting to hear back regarding the referal. She said she would call me at home and let me know. Well it is now Wednesday 3:49 pm, and I have been trying to call the office but the line is busy. It seems like everytime I try calling that office the line is constantly busy. It doesnt matter what time you call. I have to keep calling and calling, until finally there automated machine finally answers. My question is has anybody else experienced this with their doctor's office? What aggitates me the most is the line constantly being busy. They have a automated machine that picks up and you have to chose what youre calling about, and then it directs you to that line. But why is it always busy!!?? I would much rather wait on hold than to not be able to get through at all. This has been going on for awhile now.
Please any advice would really be great!!
Thank you.

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Well, I finally got ahold of them, they transfered me to their voicemail. Thankfully they called me back, and now I have to wait until tomorrow to call the dentist because their office is closed.
I understand they are busy and they have a lot to do, but they should have called me back letting me know. I think they just forgot. Usually they are really good about returning phone calls. The only problem I have ever had is just trying to get through, and not constantly getting a busy signal.
Hopefully, this wont become a habit. Maybe its just because of the holiday weekend.

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago They refered me to a place called My Kids Dentist. It on 17th ave and glendale. They wont be able to get him in until Sep 20th!! I asked the lady if that was going to be to long considering his tooth is chipped and there is a crack running up the tooth. She said it should be fine. If he shows any discomfort to call them immediatly.
What had origanally happaned was I asked my daughter ti get me a tissue so I could wipe his nose, when he saw her coming back with the tissue he tried to run, I tried to grab him and caught his sleeve, when I did that he yanked and fell on a little tupperware storage box that had the computer case siding on it. At first I though he had hit his chin, I checked nothing was wrong, of course he was still crying, so I checked his lip and tongue thinking maybe he bit his tongue or cut his lip with his teeth. Sill I saw nothing, and for a second I felt relieved until I saw his tooth chipped. And its not just a little chip, its like the whole bottom tip. I immediatly called the doctors office and the put a message in for a nurse to call back. She said just watch him, until I could come in to have him checked. This all happened on Sunday. (of course a holiday weekend) He hasnt shown any signs of pain or discomfort, but I feel so horrible. That afternoon after it happend, I put him down for a nap, and then I just layed down and cried. I felt so horrible even though I knew it wasnt my fault, but just knowing his poor little tooth is now chipped just made me feel so bad. I have 3 children in all, and this has never happened to my other 2. They have never chipped a tooth, needed stitches, or anything. They hardley even get sick. With Jacob he was constantly sick last year from November-April. It was off and on the whole time. We were constantly going to the doctor. So this whole thing is completely new to me. After he was born I told my boyfriend, this is going to be the one to give us trouble. So far we have battled severe jaundice, a mishaped head, constant colds/ear infections and now this. Since he was born it seems like we have spent most of the time at the doctors office.

I agree with you Davins Mommy, I cant stand Chelsea. Ugh!! She drives me crazy. Another one I cant stand is Kate!

I hate it when they replace actors. It took me awhile to get used to the new Belle.
Another show that replaced some actors was Guiding Light.(I love Guiding Light:D ) They replaced Cassie and Lizzie. The new Lizzie I really like, but the new Cassie I cant stand. I get so attached to the original actors, and their characters, you'd think I really knew them. My boyfriend laughs when I start telling him the daily scoop. He tells me "its just a show". I just tell him "whatever"

So, on to more celebrity gossip.....Did you here about Paris Hilton. LOL. She got arrested for DUI. I wonder what her additude was about having to go to jail? "This is sooo not HOT"
It seems like almost every celebrity is arrested for DUI. You'd think they'd be able to afford a DRIVER!! C'mon now!

With my first 2 children I didnt really have bad morning sickness or fatigue. But with my youngest son (17 months) it was bad. For me drinking a lot of water and eating crackers or bread seemed to make me feel a little bit better. Also laying down for awhile. It was mainly the water that made me feel better. It never really went away after drinking or eating but it did soothe it a little. For fatigue, there was nothing I could do. As a result of that our house was the one who suffered the most. LOL. I didnt want to do anything. I had to absolutly force myself to get up and try to get things done. It wasnt until after my son was born that I started feeling better. And even then it took a few months.
If you dont have any children, I would just RELAX as much as you can now. If you do have children, just take it slow.
How far a long are you?
What are your suggestions for dealing with morning (or all day long) sickness and fatigue? Heather

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Oh...As for food cravings, Mine was Grilled cheese Sandwich and Fries dipped in thousand Island sauce. And I would only eat it from The Big Apple. Mmmm it was so good. I wanted it all the time. I still like it now, but when I was pregnant it just tasted sooo much better.
Also I LOVED eating ice. I was addicted to it!! I had the ice cravings when I was pregnant with both my sons, but not my daughter. It's weird.

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Thank you Shelice & SallySmith,
It makes me feel better knowing other mothers know exactly how I feel.
It hurts so much to see your child in any kind of pain.
How are you kids doing now Shelice?

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago My daughter LOVES dressing up. She is also 7. My mom had saved a lot of my dresses from when I was little, so my daughter gets to use those dresses now for dress up. She'll put on a fluffy dress and twirl around looking at herself in the mirror the whole time. Its cute!! The only thing she really doesnt care for is having her hair put up. She wants to do that herself. If she can do it herself she'll wear bows and barrettes. Another thing she is really into lately is putting on makeup and nail polish.

I cant wait to find out though!!!:D

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I also have the same problem with my son. He is 17 months. I also say no, but it hardley works. I asked his pediatrician, and she said if he keeps hitting after saying no, to put him down or walk away and tell him "that hurts mamma". I have done that, and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. With my other 2 children I would put them in their playpens and they hated it. They would just scream. This time around with my youngest I just cant do it. I think I have just gotten too soft. It just breaks my heart to see him and hear him scream like that. So, for now I am just sticking to saying no, and not holding him when he wants to hit.
I think like Stephanie said, you just have to be consistant. He'll eventually get it.

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I played Patty Cake a lot!! Even now that he is 17 months he still loves it. Another thing I did, and still do, was rock a bye baby. But I made it into a game. I would rock him and when I sang when the wind blows, I would blow his hair, then at the end of the song when the cradle falls, I would lower him down like he was falling. He would laugh so hard. It was so cute. Even now as soon as I start to sing the song he starts laughing, because he knows whats going to happen.
