azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago My favorite was also the ornaments the kids made. My daughter made a wreath out of yarn with her picture in the middle, and my son made a snow man out of foam cut outs. I have lots of ornaments on the tree that the kids have made over the years, and those are always my favorite!! Heather

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Most of the time when there are new posts, the group is highlighted in green. I have noticed that sometimes they arent, but it will usually say how many hour/minutes ago someone posted. Also, on the homepage it says the lastest forum posts. That is also helpful!! Heather

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago It is hard treating a baby with a cold. Especially when you have one yourself. For us there hasnt been one specific thing that really helps. Just watching that the symptons dont get worse, baby tylenol, and having lots of patience. Luckily we have had a really good cold season (knock on wood) Last year Jacob and I were constantly sick. This year he and the kids have only had a couple mild colds. Heather

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago We also scaled down on gifts this year. The kids mainly got activity toys. They got the new v-flash, which they LOVE. And jacob got the baby leap frog. They also got some learning card games, a playdoh set, and lots of clothes. But I do have to agree about the twist ties. The baby leap frog was doule tied!! It takes more time to untie those than to unwrap the present.Heather

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Excercise!! I would like to atleast take a 30 minute walk each day. But first I need to get over my fear of other dogs. There are so many dogs that I see running around, and I am so afraid that while walking one of them will come after us. Heather

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I dont even know where to start!!! I just walked past my sons room, and caught him with his pants and underwear down!!! I asked him what was he doing, and he said he didnt know. I asked him again, and he said he wants to be naked. I asked why?? He continued to tell me he didnt know. I kept calm, i didnt want him to think he was in any kind of trouble, so I asked again. I told him to just tell me why he wants to be naked. He said because he likes girls. At this point I have no idea what to say, so I told him he needs to keep his clothes on, and he cant go naked. Now I know at some age a boy is going to explore himself, but at 6 years old!!! Is this normal?? He has been talking a lot about boys at school talking about girls being "hot". But now I am worried about what else they might be saying. My daughter not too long ago made a statement about Kirsty Alley when she was on Oprah in her bikini. She said "it looks like she is about to have sex". I couldnt believe my ears!!! Is it already time to talk to them about S E X. Has anybody else had these kind of experiences. How do I handle this, I have no idea what to even say. I dont even know how to approach the subject. Please, if anyone has advice please help me. I just cant believe that my babies are talking and maybe even thinking about sex. It just doesnt seem normal to me. They seem too young!! Heather

azheatherJoined: 9/02/06 Posts: 1038 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Thank you guys for the encouraging thoughts. I know in my head that this is a normal thing, but in my heart it hurts. I cant believe the time has come for the "talk". I know it is a normal thing, and I dont want him to feel ashamed or in trouble. I want him to know that I am not mad, and hopefully in the future (the far future) he will be able to come to me with any questions. So as of now, I havent said anything further to him about it, and his dad is just as shocked as me, so he hasnt said anything either. The only thing that worries me is his age. I try so hard to filter what is coming into the house. Music, tv, but when he walks out that door for school, I have no idea what is being said. And like you Keightey I have no experience with this, so I dont know how to handle it. Give me a crying baby, an ear ache, a rash and I know what to do. But this!!! Aagghh!! Heather
