A WI girl I love summer.  I love being able to go anywhere at anytime.  Cold ice tea, coffee on the deck in the morning.  Just being outside!

Being a parent is hard, and making the choice not to have kids, or waiting, is a hard one and I respect anyone who does.  E and I waited four years after getting married, we to wanted a house and to be secure. Best wishes no matter what your choice is.

Here here!  My email did not go through, but I don't think it is fair to disregard the winner yesterday.  I offerered to help sent emails today to the contest email and Rachel accepted my offer so I know there is an attempt there to straighten things out.  Hotmail had been giving me issues yesterday- Would not send some mailSmile and the gmail account I put contests not contest so I had an error thereSmile

I am sorry you feel this is a silly contest, but those who use mommytalk on a day to day basis know we are not going to let one mistake ruin the intergriety of Mommytalk.  The truth is Mommytalk just started having some great contest on a regular basis- as with all new things there is bound to be bumps.  They are trying to remedy the situation, without disregarding the winner- there is more fun and prizes to be had. I think this way is more then fair- saying this as a contest participant that had some problems too!

Mommytalk is just not about contests it is about a community of moms and dads coming together and helping each other out, the contests are just a cherry on the already sweet sundae!

Yes do brag- that's one of the best things about being a mom.  It might be a good idea to start your DD in a preschool.  I say this because an Occupational Therapist told me the importance of having children, with possible high IQs, into social peer situations as soon as possible.  As they get older the difference they have might becaome a stumbling block in social interaction with their peers.

Have you tried a Hook on Phonics or getting ready to read system?

I do want to apoligize  for this statement I made, I was upset with some comments made and did not take my madatory five minute breather.  I did have issues yesterday with my email and addressed my issues with Rachel on a one on one basis.   I tried I felt to explain that in previous posts and felt it was important to let it lie and let the winner have their prize, but a said comment set me off.  I apoligize to any Mommytalker and Fawn if I offended you~I hope we can move on.

It is bad enough that children can be cruel enough to each other, now a teacher is encouraging it!  My son has special needs and I fear, as he enters kindergarten next year, is that he might suffer socially.

Shame on the school too.  Should we accept the fact that a child was in a class where the teacher was not properly educated on dealing with a special need.  With more understanding of autism and other learning disabilities are teachers getting the training they need to better deal with disabilities?

As a parent I am heavily involved with my sons education.  I am in constant contact with his teachers, OT and speech.  I am in no way saying this mom wasn't involved, what I am saying is that as a parent we are the first line of defense for our children and their educational needs.
