mommyo2Joined: 12/02/07 Posts: 1870 | Posted: 7 months ago Here is a story about Miley Cyrus Vanity Fair Photos ... It seems easy enough to ban these photos from your home- but they seem to be everywhere. Part of me thinks as a society we sexualize the human body to the point that a womans back is taboo- but it is more the look in her eye- the tousled hair- smudged make-up covered body in a satin sheet that implys something more then just a "cute" 15 year old having a Glamour Shot photo taken. I laugh it off because my kids are 4 and 1. They watch Hannah Montana but will not think much of these photos. If they were older, roll of the eyes call me "drip" of a mom- Hannah is so cool and dear I say it "sexy" AHHHH! Blasted we reach an impasse- shake your finger at her call a "Naughty girl" she still gets what she wanted publicity. Better to tell kids it is all a way to raise their star in the sky and money in their bank vault. That the intent was to push buttons and have people talk- which we are.

mommyo2Joined: 12/02/07 Posts: 1870 | Posted: 7 months ago No it is not. The biggest lie I was ever told was renting was a waste of money- put your money in a house. This is lie that I think put alot of American in the crisis we have today. As long as you are investing money in other ways-Rent away

mommyo2Joined: 12/02/07 Posts: 1870 | Posted: 7 months ago I use to watch trashy talk shows too- No matter how bad my life was the people on those shows were worse Every now and then when Nolan is at school I will watch Gilmore Girls- I miss that show
mommyo2Joined: 12/02/07 Posts: 1870 | Posted: 7 months ago Click here ... for news story I have to say when November comes around alot will have a change of heart. We live in a politically sensetive world and as soon as it stop being a one party race and becomes a two party race people- and the elephant and the donkey start butting heads alot of people will fall back on party lines.
mommyo2Joined: 12/02/07 Posts: 1870 | Posted: 7 months ago You bring up some good points. Our first home was like yours- we fixed it up a bit- cosmetic stuff and a little updating on the electical etc. THen when we went to sell we had a hard time because the realtor said the neighborhood was less then desirable- Really it wasn't that bad- in that instance we felt we should of waited and contiued renting. Waited for a better home. When we purchased this home that was our #1 prority to make sure it was in a good location and bonus is our homeowners association, which helps keep the neighborhood clean etc. and makes our home a better investment. If you do have the skills to fix up a home and you are willing to do the work- is there a formula? Meaning what should you spend on fixing up your own house as compared to the value of other houses in your neighborhood?

mommyo2Joined: 12/02/07 Posts: 1870 | Posted: 7 months ago After we bought our first house I started listening to Suze Orman and others. Suze one day had a lady on her show that was financially well off had many sound financial investments but was always told she should buy a house. Suze told her that renting was great for her and depends on the person- and how their investments lie. That buying a house could hurt more then help. I was simly stating this because when my DH and I were young and naive we ran out and bought a house because of the pressures of others. We were better off waiting it out a year or two building up our creidt etc and buying a house that was a better investment. Here is a good link http://michaelbluejay.com/house/rentvsbuy.htm ...

mommyo2Joined: 12/02/07 Posts: 1870 | Posted: 7 months ago My dad and mom are divorced- My dad lives in AZ with his 3rd wife and I have a rough relationship with my real mother, we see each other 2 times a year. My dad remarried my step-mom(the mom in the story) she is who we spend alot of time with on Holidays. CHristmas Eve My real mother married my step dad when I was 5 I see him maybe once every year- with my half sister. My mom and step-dad divorced 6 years ago, and my step dad is remarried. It is so confusing, Nolan asked about the whole thing now. He asked "Who was your mom when you get born." i say Grandma Melissa- then Mimi came along and raised mommy- on& on. We spend Christmas with my in-laws so it relieves some pressure off of me and my fam-CONFUSED |
