mommyo2Joined: 12/02/07 Posts: 1870 | Posted: 8 months ago I babysat when I lived in IL till I moved to WI I made more money then my friends did working at Mcdonald's! After we moved I got a job working at a camp for disabled children and adults that went into working for UCP at a respite home. THen after HS I started working as a CNA for nursing homes and assistant livings. I loved it but it is a stressfull job I saw alot of sad things, so when DH and I moved to the MAdison area I started working at Pier One- made it up to asst. manager before I had Nolan. After Nolan did home health and health clinics- then I had Meg in home daycare. Now I just have my kids and I love it! If you have loved ones in a nursing home go and visit. THose who have loved ones who visit are less likely to be abused. It is sad but true. The saddest thing though was when I worked for disabled home we had to do foster care for a girl who was being sexually abused, looking back was probably not very safe-me 17 with another worker supervising visits with the parents. |
