Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 5 months ago Great question, and I totally understand! Timothy had acid reflux problems also, and we also did the Zantac. It seemed to work well for him. But my nephew also had reflux problems and the Zantac didn't seem to do much of anything for him, so they ended up switching him to Prilosec. And I know that once they switched him, it was a night and day difference. I would say that it wouldn't hurt to talk to your ped and just mention what's going on, and ask if it is normal to have some side effects and how long it usually lasts. You can also ask about the possibility of switching to the Prilosec. At any rate, you and your precious baby will be in my prayers. I know how frustrating that all is! Take care and God bless! Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 5 months ago Hmmm.....the first thing that comes to mind is when Emma was just a couple months old. It was the beginning of September and still VERY warm in our tiny little apartment. I was in the habit of sleeping in a sports bra and undies to try to keep cool. Anyway, I got up one morning, changed Emma, fixed her bottle and sat down in the recliner in the living room to feed her. Things were going fine until there was a knock at the door. I asked dh to please go see who it was, since I was somewhat indisposed at the moment. I heard him open the door and say "Hi! Come on in!" In walked my sister-in-law and her husband...as I am still sitting there in my sports bra and panties, feeding our daughter. My sil kindly asked if she could feed Emma the rest of her bottle, while her dh walked into the kitchen. I handed Emma over and ran for the bedroom to put on some clothes.

Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 5 months ago A few weeks ago, I bought the new Off family care smooth and dry repellent (for bugs and ticks). I LOVE it! It has a nice citrus scent to it, and it dries immediately so you are not left feeling greasy or sticky. We used it for the first time 2 weeks ago when we were outside for a campfire and fireworks. There were tons of mosquitos but none of us got bit. I was pretty impressed. We have also had good luck with the Cutter repellent wipes. Those are nice for the kids, since you don't have to worry about it getting sprayed on places where you don't want it. Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 5 months ago Some good advice! I would talk to your dr just to make sure, and I definitely agree that things should only be taken when necessary. The neti pot can be really helpful with congestion! I have a LOT of allergy issues, and I looked into getting one. I ended up deciding on a sinus rinse system instead. Basically the same thing except this is a squirty bottle that you put the water and solution in, and it provides a little more pressure to flush stuff out. It's basically a matter of personal preference. But either way, they can make a BIG difference without any side effects. Best wishes! Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 5 months ago Now THAT was AWESOME!!!!! I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants!!!! What is it with guys and asking that? I can understand asking how your day went and that kind of thing. But the whole thing of implying that maybe you didn't do anything...GRRRRRRRR Today will be one of those days. There is plenty of laundry and stuff to do, but I am taking care of a sick little dude. He had a fever and bad cough last night and I was up several times with him. Today he is a lot better than he was, but very tired and just wants to cuddle. So today, that is my most important job. Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 5 months ago I was the new kid once. When I was in 8th grade, my dad's job got transferred from MN to Chicago. We moved at the beginning of February. It was a little bit tough because I was VERY shy (and it didn't help that I wore a back brace for Scoliosis), but it did help me become a little more outgoing. I remember going to the school to register for classes and just being totally overwhelmed by the fact that there were so many kids and I didn't know anyone. The band director was AWESOME though and right away made me feel like part of the group and introduced me to some good kids. It ended up that we were only there for 10 weeks before we moved back to MN. "I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth." -Psalm 57:9-11.

Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 5 months ago Both of mine were vaginal births too, and I do still have the pooch going on. Things got a little stretched out with Emma, and I figured it should be a little better the second time since things had already stretched. Nope. It just stretched a different area. sigh What do ya do? I'm trying to work on it and we'll see what happens, but either way, it's definitely more than worth it. Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 5 months ago First of all, the guy was absolutely and unquestionably wrong! Instead of communicating honestly (which is probably the most important ingredient in a relationship) he deceived her and drugged her. That is inexcusable! Like Holly said, at least the girl was honest with him. She let him know that she was not on the pill at that time. If he was so concerned about her getting pregnant, he could have kept him pants on for a couple weeks, or at very least used a condom. I do agree with Susan that simply telling kids repeatedly that "sex is bad" is not really helpful. First of all, it makes it something that's forbidden, which can make it seem that much more enticing. But also, you can't be told for 20-some years that sex is bad, and then all of the sudden flip a switch in your brain on your wedding night and believe that sex is all of the sudden a good thing that you should love. Kids should be taught that sex is a good thing (it was intentionally created to be a good thing!) and it does feel good and it's fun. But the very best thing you can have is within a loving marriage. And there are some very real negative consequences (physcially, mentally and emotionally) that can result from sex outside of marriage. Kids should be given all of the information and be encouraged to set goals for themselves and make responsible decisions. That guy DEFINITELY did NOT make a responsible decision, and if it was my guy, he would be GONE!!!! "I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth." -Psalm 57:9-11.
