Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 6 months ago My mom is completely awesome!!! We talk every day (sometimes more than once). We don't get to hang out nearly as much as I would like, but we do usually get to spend a weekend with my parent's once or twice a month. And sometimes when my dad comes through here on business, he will drop Mom off for the day to hang out here. Sometimes Mom and I will get to do stuff together, and sometimes Mom and my sister and I will go hang out. My mom is the best!!!!

Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 6 months ago We were at my parents' house for the weekend, which was really fun. On Sunday morning, we opened the bedroom door and found a little white paper bag on the floor outside the door. It was decorated with crayons and said "luv me". Attached was a card with a crayon picture of Emma wearing a red dress. Inside was a white plastic spoon with a red heart glued on it, with 2 Hershey kisses, wrapped in pink tissue paper (Emma decided that the two of us should share the kisses). Also in the bag was a candle holder (an empty baby food jar with colored pieces of tissue paper glued on it) with a little tealite candle inside. Emma had made them at school on Friday, and had hid them at my parents' house as soon as we got there until Sunday morning. It was really cool. And my parents had asked if they could keep Timothy until this Friday to have some one-on-one time with him. So, while Emma is at school this week, I am child-free.

Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 6 months ago When we are going somewhere together, Randy drives. Even on long drives, I don't think that I have ever taken over the driving. I have offered, but I think he just prefers to drive. Which is fine with me. I don't mind driving myself and the kids, but I honestly don't really like driving other adults around. I am very confident in my driving, but I don't like hearing other's opinions of what I should be doing differently. And Randy is also a terrific driver, and I feel completely safe with him driving us around. Plus, I get to just sit back and relax, which is fine with me.

Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 6 months ago Wow.....that's pretty awesome! Good for him! And it seems like his parents are not the type to try to push him too hard. From this story it sounds like he is just a really smart kid who really loves school. So, that is pretty cool!

Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 6 months ago Likewise, it depends on the friend. I do hang out with some of my friends just for my own sake, sometimes without kids. The best right now is that our whole family is really great friends with our next-door neighbors. Randy and Mike get along really well and just hang out sometimes. And Cheri has become one of my best friends. We frequently hang out while letting the kids play (they all get along really well!!!) and we also find times for the two of us to just hang out too. It's pretty cool! And also, I LOVE hanging out with my mom and my sister whenever we have a chance. "I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples.
