Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 6 months ago At this point, I don't know of any big trips planned. We got a tent last fall that we are hoping to get some use out of this summer. I do know that Labor Day weekend we will be in Wisconsin with all of Randy's sisters and their families. They have been having this sibling gathering that weekend for the past few years, and that's really fun. We will also be going to visit my parents several times, which is always fun. Summer is just such a great time for last minute trips and outings. Yeah summer!!!! "I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 6 months ago Ok, here goes.... From birth through age 14, I lived in Buffalo, Minnesota (in 2 different houses). Then we moved to Lake Zurich, Illinois (for only 10 weeks). We didn't love it and Dad had a great opportunity to move back, so it was back to Buffalo (again 2 houses- one we rented while building the other). Then it was off to college. I spent my freshman year in Duluth, MN. Then my sophomore-senior years in Morris, MN. During college, I spent 2 summers working at a youth camp in Epping, North Dakota. Then a year in Fargo, North Dakota. Then a year as a live-in nanny in Edina, Minnesota. Then briefly back to Buffalo before getting married and moving to Elbow Lake, Minnesota. Wow, that was more than I had first thought.... Randy has lived in Elbow Lake his entire life (except for college in Wahpeton, North Dakota- close enough to come home to help with farming). I think that you need to get your daughter some help from a counselor who has experience with helping victims of sexual assault. They can help you and your daughter work through everything and sort out exactly what is going on. I would definitely let your daughter know that you trust her and believe what she is saying, and that you want to help her find answers. I would definitely not try to punish her- right now you don't know what is really going on, and if there is something happening to her, punishment is the last thing she needs. I also really commend you for having the courage to share this and seek counsel and advice. Know that I will be praying for you, and I am adding prayers for you and your family on the Call on Jesus forum.

Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 6 months ago Yeah, totally not!!!! I love watching that show, but it is really humbling. A lot of the things I remember having learned, but couldn't tell you the answer anymore. And sadly, a lot of the things I know I didn't learn until middle school or high school. My dad loves that show too and doesn't believe that those are legitimately grade school questions. I tell him things have changed a little.

Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 6 months ago Good question! Randy and I did not live together until we were married. After college, I spent a year living in an apartment with 3 friends. Then I worked for a year as a live-in nanny. It was during that time that Randy and I met. I stopped working there 4 months before the wedding and moved back home to finish up some loose ends before the wedding. Randy and I had a little apartment for the first 3 years of our marriage. When I was 5 months pregnant with Timothy (and we desperately needed more space!!!) we bought our home, which I REALLY love! It just goes to show that there is so much more to life than how much money you have. Truly, it is not our finances that make us wealthy. And God is faithful to His promises! He pormised that if we give with our hearts, we will be blessed beyond what we can imagine!
