I think I would have to go with strawberries, bananas, and oranges. I can answer that a lot easier for Emma. She would be grapes (but not green ones), green apples and watermelon. She is our little fruit monster. Honestly, she would rather have fruit than sweets. It's crazy! "I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. I'm just so glad to see a positive outcome, that mother and baby are both doing well! So many times you hear stories of babies being left in dumpsters, etc. I am glad that everything turned out well! That's a brave girl!

He said that's it. Both of his parents' families are German ancestry. So, I suppose that makes our children half German and half mutt- I am predominantly Bohemian (Czech), part Irish, and some German, Irish and Blackfeet Indian. Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 7 months ago We have the room pretty dark (other than the little bit of light from the nightlight in the bathroom down the hall). I am also one who really loves lots of blankets all year round. In the winter that's not a problem. When it starts to get a little warmer, we have the ceiling fan going. There usually isn't much of any noise (other than the fan) unless Timothy wakes up when we are going to bed and we have to restart his fan in his room and turn on his cd player again (he has a cd of quiet worship songs that he falls asleep to). I am always curled up on my side, sometimes with a foot sticking out if I get too warm.

Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 7 months ago I know that we had some issues with this with Emma and Timothy too. I know that it's a very normal stage of growing. From your post it sounds like he is not crying for very long periods of time, which is good. It is normal for them to cry a little bit when you leave, but it he is calming down within a couple minutes, then you're doing just fine. If he doesn't stop crying and just stays upset for a long time, then I would try to gradual thing, like the post above. It just takes some time for them to adjust and know that when you leave you are coming back. Also, it can be really tempting to just slip out when they're not paying attention, but I think that can makes things worse. Then they can start to think that you might leave at any time, and become even more clingy. It seems to work better to let them know you are leaving but you will be back (also if you can give them a reference, like after lunch or after naptime, etc.). Then they learn that you leave but come back and it's ok. Anyway, take care and God bless! I wish you the very best! Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 7 months ago When Emma was a baby, we got the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium for the the crib. She loved the soft lights, sounds and bubbles. By the time we moved her to a bed, she wasn't using it anymore, which was perfect because then we used it for Timothy. When we were ready to move Timothy to a bed, he stopped using the aquarium also (there was no place to put it) and we switched to a cd player with a quiet, soothing worship cd that I got at a women's retreat. Emma has a music box that we wind up when we tuck her in, and that all seems to be working well.
