I am frustrated here in our town- there are a couple of nice parks, but a couple years ago they took out all of the playground equipment, saying that it was unsafe. They still haven't replaced it with anything. So, the only playground to take the kids to is the one at the elementary school. That's a nice playground, but we can't really go there during school hours.

Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 7 months ago We should sign the kids up for swimming lessons. We don't have a pool, but they have had a lot of exposure to the water. We go to the lake frequently in the summer. Also, my parents have a hot tub at their house. They keep it between 98 and 99 degrees (body temperature) so it is safe for the kids to be in there. We have had them "swimming" in there since they were a couple months old. They both LOVE the water, and we practice floating on their backs, and Emma can now doggy-paddle. It would be nice to have some formal instruction too, though.

Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 7 months ago I do like to use coupons also. I am not always as good with it as I would like, but it can make a big difference. Another thing that I have done is when I find a product I really like, I call the 800 number on the package to tell them. They are usually really surprised to have people calling with positive comments, and I think all but once they have sent a bunch of coupons in the mail. Once we even got free products in the mail! I agree that he broke a rule, and there should be some kind of consequence, but like Susan said, probation or community service seems like a more fitting option..... Lisa JoyJoined: 8/28/07 Posts: 1044 | Posted: 7 months ago I actually never went to prom either. My junior year some of my friends and I hung out at my house, watching movies and just having fun. My senior year, we got all dressed up in formals, rented a limo and went to a dinner theater. Then we went back to my friend's house to hang out for the rest of the night. In front of our school, there was a HUGE boulder, and students would periodically paint things on it (homecoming messages, etc). We realized none of us had ever painted it, so we grabbed some spray paint and painted the rock. I don't remember what we painted on it, but it was fun.
