I drive a Town & Country minivan and my hubby drives a durango so we both drive guzzlers!  We fill up when we need to.  I don't go out as much or as far so I can usualyy make it almost 2 weeks without filling up and it takes me about 70 bucks.  Hubby takes about 80 bucks twice a week because he works 35 minutes away.  erghhhhh

I am going to assume this is just me going and i am not taking hubby or kids with me!  Aside from clothes, it would be makeup, hair stuff, toothbrush and paste, phone and chargers, meds, money, charge cards for emergencies, and since I'll be without kids or hubby, some books to enjoy on my trip!

Our 15 month old has never been a good sleeper.  We have gone thru phases but right now he goes to bed and screams for about 10 minutes then crawls back onto his bed and goes to sleep. Then, anywhere from 12 to 3 he wakes up and screams and I am not talking a normal scream. I am talking bloody murder scream, and he has vocal chords like a mad man. It's amazing.  My mom was just up here helping me when I had the baby a few weeks ago and she made the comment several times she has never seen a baby fight sleep like he does.  I don't know whether he is having bad dreams, just scared because we are not with him or what but we are at the end of our ropes and my hubby has begun bringing him in our bed when he wakes up which is not going to make getting thru this phase any easier.  With a new born though it's tough to let him cry it out and function the next day when i am already waking up every two hours to feed Joshua.  Hoepfully it will pass soon!

When we had Gabriel we decided on Beatrix Potter theme for the nursery since we were not going to find out the sex of the baby.  It's an adorable nursery.  It has the bedding, wall hanging, curtains, wall cling ons that look like they were painted on, light switch cover, book ends, all the goodies.  THen when he turned one we put him in his big boy bed in another room with the ball theme.  Very boyish with the bedding, curtiains, hat rack, lamps, light switch cover, wall hangings, etc.  The baby now has the nursery which we kept the same.  It's wayyyyy to expensive to switch the nursery stuff so close to having done it the first time.  Once Joshua turns of age we will make his room to suit him in whatever he is interested in like we did for Gabriel.  It's so much fon to make their room their own!

From birth to college i lived in the same house that my parents still live in.  That is in rural VA.  Then I moved to my dorm room at East Carolina university for my freshman year.  Then to my own apartment with 3 other girls for my sophmore year.  Then I transferred to Virginia Commonwealth university in richmond and lived with my best friend from growing up in an apartment in the city for 2 years.  Then we moved to the suburbs (the West End) for 2 more years.  Then I moved out on my own into an apartment closer to my work in Richmond.  That is where I met my hubby and my next move was into our house that we live in now.  We love our home but are keeping an eye out for another house that catches our eye.  We want our kids to have lots of kids around in the neighborhood to playwith and most of the kids here are older so moving is up for consideration right now.  I guess so far I've lived a total of 7 places....

My best friend from elementary school and I lost touch years ago but there was a big group of us in highschool that are still friends, there is 12 of us.  Of those 12 though some are closer to one another than others and 2 of that group are my "best " friends, One was my maid of honor and the other has been my friend since before kindergarten.  Besides "the girls" though, my mom and my hubby are my two biggest confidants.  I tell both of them everything.  My mom probably hears more than she would like sometimes!

I don't think I could swap houses, more so have someone stay in ours.  I'm a little weird when it comes to people in our beds, bathrooms, etc.  As much as i know my friends there are surely things that would probably surprise me.  As for the flying amtrak thing, my mom just did that when she was up here helping me with the baby.  She took the train from PA to VA for less than $100 and it was just as quick time wise as it would have been flying.  The only catch was that you could only have 2 carryon size bags and had to keep up with them yourself because they don't stow them for you, just the overhead compartments.  I've never ridden the train but I think I will try in the future!

I love pedicures and I saw this on tv the other day.  I would definatly try it.  I hate wearing shoes so my feed get a little rough and i try to get pedicrues every other week to keep them on the softer side. When It comes to our area I will try it!

Right now our messes consist of Gabriel spreading toys from one end of our family room to the other.  We have it gated off so that is the extent of where the mess goes to.  Joshua's mess consists of spitting up on me!  Each night after Gabriel goes to bed, i throw his toys back in the appropriate bins so first thing in the morning we can do it all over again.  Sometimes I let it go one day but then I can't stand it and it get's cleaned up mid day.

I love Susan's idaa and when the time comes,  I'm gonna steal it!!!  Can I do that wiht my hubby's stuff too?

I would love to have 3 children but medically i've been advised to not get pregnant again.  We just had our second boy and we would love to have a girl.  If you want to have another, go for it.  There is no garauntee on the sex but all babies are perfect and a blessing.  Good luck and have fun trying!

I have a very active 15 month old and we do activites sometimes but other times I let him sit by himself and play and stretch his imagination.  Today he took his sand toys and stirred his bucket with the shovel and then pretended it was a spoon.  It was great to watch because I had never taught him that.  He plays by himself for about 30 minutes a day and I just get to watch and enjoy.  It's not as active and social as playing with him or taking him places but he develops a lot that way I've noticed.  We also have him in Gymboree and the library storytimes.  He loves them all.

I use a Neti Pot. most everyday whether i have congestion or not.  It clenses your sinuses and nasel passages and i've had a season allergy free.  They are about 20 bucks and work great!  It's all natural so it won't effect breast feeding at all (i am feeding as well)  as for meds, i've used claritan and they are ok for releif but i'd put that 2nd to the neti pot or nasal clense system.
