mom2gabrielJoined: 7/02/07 Posts: 610 | Posted: 1 years ago Kohls is a great resource for nursing bras which once I started growing in that area, i began to wear them because they were so comfortable. The two that I liked the best I bought at Kohls. Happy shopping!!

mom2gabrielJoined: 7/02/07 Posts: 610 | Posted: 1 years ago I just stopped breastfeeding myself and crazy as it may be I just put him on the bottle, and stopped cold turkey. He did fine and as for milk production, I was sore for about two days, and wore pads in my bra for a week and eventually all leaking ceased. Good Luck!!!

mom2gabrielJoined: 7/02/07 Posts: 610 | Posted: 1 years ago I have a 12 week old and we have been through all the belly troubles there is I think. In addition to examining your diet, my pediatrician suggested taking a heating blanket and putting it on my belly, then a thin blanket, the put the baby on my belly and snuggling some. The warmth of the blanket I guess was supposed to work. ALthough we never had to try it because eventually everything worked out it may be worth a try??? Good luck!!

mom2gabrielJoined: 7/02/07 Posts: 610 | Posted: 1 years ago My grandmother just passed away on Monday and her funeral was Wednesday. She was 90 and there are 13 great grandchildren in the family ranging from 3 months to 10 years old. We did not have the visitation the night before, only the funeral. Although some of the smaller ones did not understand what was happeneing, all of them were there. They knew they would not see her anymore and that she went to live with God, and they did fine. Had we had an Visitation for her, I have no doubt the children would be there too. I think it all depends on your personal situation, family, and feelings toward it. Good luck with the decision!

mom2gabrielJoined: 7/02/07 Posts: 610 | Posted: 1 years ago I have a three month old and I used the one that I registered for until it broke because I had everything but the kitchen sink in it. My husband and I share because the baby can't be in two places at once. After that one broke I also went to Burlington (Baby Depot) and bought one that really looks like a purse. (black with like a teal oriental patern on the top). It's great. My husband does not mind carrying it because it's not like if people see it they won't see that he has the baby too and know what it is for. The way I figure it, is that the diaper bag is my new purse and I am going to get as cute and stylish one that I can. As for compartments, its nice that they have seperate little sections inside to keep your diapers, wipes, bottles from shifting around. Have fun with it and enjoy shopping!!!

mom2gabrielJoined: 7/02/07 Posts: 610 | Posted: 1 years ago We started with Gabriel in a bassinet beside our bed but he hated it, so then we bought another pack and play and put it in our room (we thought he would like a bigger space better) but he hated that too. So within a week he was in his crib in his room and we had the monitor obviously in our room. He has come into our room but not until afer 5 in the morning. Until then I go to his room comfort him, feed, or change him and put him back into his crib. He is 3 months and sleeps through the night and my husband and I get good a night sleep. It is tough to not have them next to you but I think it is better. I am not against it at all, but I also think you are adding more environments for the little one to get used to when eventually you are going to want to put them intheir crib and it will be harder then. My next child will go straight to the crib. With all that being said.....it's a tought decision and as the mother you will know exactly what to do that will be best for you and your little one! Good luck!

mom2gabrielJoined: 7/02/07 Posts: 610 | Posted: 1 years ago I completely agree that sports figures, singers, actors, etc should not be in the role model status but society as a whole feels sadly otherwise. And with the stardom, comes the parties and the celebrity status that gets to these young people's heads. The stars, athletes,e tc that are usually the trouble makers are the young ones that can't find a true balance in managing their new career, money, and parties! Vick has caused uproar in the NFL, his family, fans, and even in small towns across the country from where his connections are (my small town in Virginia is one of them, less than 50,000 people, and 5 stop lights) Should he have more strict policies through the NFL??? I think so. Because the NFL is considered a Role Model Career, I think they should regulate a little more closely the standards that they follow.....Just like Terrell Owens last year. The whole situation is sad, Athletes and Stars make so much money that they can do so many good things but you mostly only hear the bad!

mom2gabrielJoined: 7/02/07 Posts: 610 | Posted: 1 years ago I am beginning to feed Gabriel the rice cereal mixture then we will veture on to stage 1 veggies. However, he wants nothing to do with eating off of a spoon. I tried it three times and each time we end up with the cereal everywhere but in his mouth. He sreams and just spits it out. SO. I did'nt know whether he hated the taste or if it were the spoon so I snipped a nipple to make it bigger and put the same mizture in a bottle and he ate it up! But how do i get him to eat from a spoon? ALSO... if he eats say 1 oz of the rice cereal mixture, how much more formula will he eat at one sitting. Yesterday he took 1 oz of the rice cereal mixture and then had 1 oz of formula and was good for three hours. Is that normal?? Thanks!!!!

mom2gabrielJoined: 7/02/07 Posts: 610 | Posted: 1 years ago This is a serious question! I have a son so I , right now, would be on the other end of the situation. I really do think an honest open line of communication is key with any issue but especially with this. Teens are in an age group that are impressed upon so easily and with my mother and my relationship I felt very comfortable with talking to her about anything. So much so that my friends actually came to my mother rather than their own. I intend on being very honest with my son and also a daughter if we should be blessed with one about the responsibilities that come along with being sexually active. None the less, if a teen pregnany should happen, I will love both my child and a grandchild. Not sayiing that it would not be a hard pill to swallow but as my mother always says, I may not like some of the things you do but I will always love you!
