We can't have our hands on them 100% of the time, it's not your fault. Thanks for sharing. I would never have known something like that could happen. I'm glad everyone's ok.

I think if you're talking about little to no sugar, like cheerios, or little fruit pieces, I give my son (who is 8 months old) a little bit throughout the day. I think it's fine to do as often as your baby seems interested, what a great fine motor skill workout. If your kid is anything like mine only 1/4 of the little pieces make it into his mouth any way, the rest are mushed into his clothes, or on the floor,or down his shirt.

Everyone's suggestions of good early foods are really good, thanks so much! I always forget just how much stuff you really can give them.

Thanks!

If you're able to check out some La Leche league stuff, you might really find some help, if you're interested. Breastfeeding can be such a neat and happy experience if you want it, and the people at the La Leche league are always, always knowledgeable and helpful.

I have nursed (and am still nursing the littlest) my 3, and I have really enjoyed it. My closest friend who's child is 2 weeks younger than my oldest was 100% formula fed. This child is JUST as healthy, just as HAPPY, just as STRONG just as BEAUTIFUL and just as SMART.

So, if you can try it out again! I think if you get it down it's a time you'll always value,  but if you can't or it's just too much, you're an amazing mom that knows what's best for her and her family and you're decision is the RIGHT decision!

Good luck!

My oldest walked at 11 months, my middle child walked at 15 and a half months (because she's stubborn about EVERYTHING-I was like a million months pregnant and if you tried to set this child on her feet she would just sit herself right down, but at 15 and a half months she took off RUNNING-I think she was walking in secret and making me her carry just for giggles) and my baby is 8 months and is pulling to a stand, but we have some time, I think before he's on the go on his own and that's ok with me-I hope it's not 15 and a half months though!

In my own home, or a friends home I don't worry so much! I mean my baby's crawling around on that floor putting whatever he can find straight into his mouth, so why shouldn't we too :-) I'm kidding of course, but I certainly don't drive myself crazy if something drops really quick.

Now the floor of a hospital, or say McDonald's-whatever falls goes straight in the trash, unless it's the pacifier in which case I take it home and wash it good.

Dry air can definitely cause this problem, but I hope you're able to find out for sure. I am always nervous when it's a combination of children and blood. Good luck!

this will be one of those things that I will think about at random times tomorrow-like in the check out line at the grocery store and giggle just a little and have the clerk look at me like i've lost my mind.

Bili lights are no fun...can they give you that glow worm thing that you stick against their skin that you can keep at home?

You're in my thoughts and prayers-I know how frustrating it is...did they tell you too, feed that baby as much as you can because bilirubin is broken up and excreted, so the more they eat, the more they go and the quicker everyone's happy.

I went to Pre-K when I was four, I think. I think it was one of those 2 day a week, half day schools. The funny thing is, my mom kept a T-shirt from the school, it says SUNNYBROOK PRESCHOOL and has a big sun on the front of it. My 3 year old thinks it's the coolest thing in the world to wear her mommy's preschool t-shirt.

I am all for the M&Ms too! I gave 2 for pee, 4 for poop and ONLY when they actually went.

Good luck!
