I have two part-time jobs. One takes me 15 minutes, and the other 20 minutes by car. Both are really easy to get to with little traffic. I feel really lucky as I hate to drive.

When we quit idolizing celebrities, we will quit expecting them to be role models. They are just normal people who make mistakes, only it is in the public eye. Let's NOT give them what they want, attention. Just like parenting, when your child does something wrong to get your attention, just ignore it and the behavior will not continue. Some kids and celebrities crave any kind of attention, positive or negative. Let's reward good behavior by celebrities...like Brad Pitt working to revitalize New Orleans. Now that is worthy of our attention and praise.

When I was engaged and my fiance was  working out of state, I asked a friend to take pix of me in lingerie so I could send them to him. We giggled through the whole thing, but the pics turned out great, he loved them, and he came home a little sooner than planned Smile

Christmas Eve is usually homemade clam chowder...something easy but special since it's a busy time for Santa. Christmas dinner is prime rib encased in rock salt, green beans with bacon and slivered almonds, rice pilaf, salad, and cherry pie ala mode for dessert. I'm making myself hungry!

I just remembered a fun photo booth session in which some flashing of flesh took place. Just be sure you are the one standing there when the picture slides out for the world to see Smile

If  you are worried about digital photos and the internet, just use an old Polaroid camera and be prepared to destroy.

I think they do, but they aren't easy to find. They take terrible pictures, but they are instantaneous and easy to rip up...Smile

Our kids could open one gift on Christmas Eve, but it had to be a small one, not the most-anticipated one. It's sort of a compromise for those who just can't wait.

I'm finished! It was easier this year than most because some of my family decided they didn't want to exchange gifts this year.

I agree that learning to lose is very important in child development. The sooner your child experiences small losses, the easier it will be down the road to face bigger disappointments. Kids need to learn that life isn't always fair, other kids really are better than they are in certain areas, and participating is very rewarding..even if you don't win. After a game, I like to see both teams say "good game" to each other and shake hands, even if they don't really mean it. Doing this teaches them to be gracious in the face of defeat.
