Reading your list made my mouth water. They all sound delicious. I'm not fond of bacon, but scallops are one of my favorite foods. I think most people enjoy seared ahi tuna, so I chose that as my favorite, but I think any of these would be great. You are inviting all the MT people, right? Smile

You have so many people pulling for you. Keep your focus and stay strong. It will get easier, I promise. Sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers your way. Take good care of yourself and your kids.

Lisa,

I'm so proud of you! It isn't easy to go to school while raising a child. Your achievement shows ambition, patience, and perseverance. Congratulations, graduate!

I'd love to have a talk show like Oprah...something entertaining, uplifting, and helpful. I would shoot for being more modest than Oprah, however.  She's getting a little full of herself.

I'm guessing girls. The nice thing about boys is they don't play the game of "Guess what I'm thinking?" or "Guess why I'm upset?" They are honest, straightforward, tell-it-like-it-is people, and I appreciate that since I don't play coy myself.

I have been part of a secret Santa, but it wasn't online, so I'm not sure about that part. Some gifts I have sent and received and enjoyed were coupons for restaurants, car washes, movie theatres, massages,  facials, pedicures, etc. These can fit in snail mail for no extra postage. Good luck! I remember how it was hard to pick gifts for a person I didn't even know. Sometimes I was very lucky. Other times I struck out.

My family left the country to spend Christmas in a warm place. When we returned home a couple of weeks later, a piano was set up in the living room. I was 9, and no one could tell me there wasn't a Santa.

1. Hot apple cider with cinnamon stick

2. Freshly-cut Christmas tree ( like turpentine)

3. Eggnog with nutmeg

4. Prime rib encrusted with rock salt.

5. The new perfume I received as a Christmas gift

I am wondering if I was the oldest person ever. My 5th grade teacher told me on the last day before Christmas break. I burst into tears and ran home to tell my mom what a big mistake my teacher made.. OK, I was a very naive kid, obviously Smile

Valgal,

I am so relieved to know I wssn't the oldest believer !  Actually, my parents went to great pains to keep me believing, and I am grateful that they extended the fun as long as they did. I believed in the Tooth Fairy and Easter Bunny just as long as I believed in Santa. The Tooth Fairy used to write me letters and leave them under my pillow after taking my teeth. The writing was this very squiggly cursive, unlike anything my Mom or Dad ever wrote.  And she drew pictures of herself, too. That still puzzles me. My own kids were not nearly so gullible, unfortunately.

I am a fan of gift cards, too. You can tuck them into a card. You don't have to wait in line at the post office. You can be sure the recipient is getting something he or she likes. I do worry about them expiring, though. I gave a friend of mine an Olive Garden gift card over a year ago for her birthday. (OG is her favorite restaurant) I assumed she would use it right away. Just a couple of months ago when I was visiting her city, she suggested we use the gift card. I was shocked she still had it. We didn't end up going there, and now I worry that she never used it or it had expired and she didn't tell me. This year I sent her a gift card to a department store thinking she might not wait a year. Let's hope that a year from now she doesn't invite me to go shopping with her....

I have three suggestions I tell all my friends who are having difficulty conceiving. You may laugh, but these have worked for some of them.

First, think like a teenager. Do it in the back seat of a car and think, "It can't happen to me." I think stress is a huge negative factor on the body.. Having spontaneous, fun purposeless sex seems to prepare the body for pregnancy.

Second, try different positions. If you have a tilted cervix, doggie style will tilt it back the right way making it more receptive to sperm. I'm not making this up. My doctor gave me this tip.

Finally, go somewhere for inspiration. My twins were conceived at Old Faithful Geyser. If you've ever seen it, you'll understand Smile

I do watch both the world news and the local news almost every night. I think it's important to be informed. Tragic news sells, unfortunately. I do get upset when I watch tragedies unfolding, but it takes a lot of people getting upset to make changes. I know there are many wonderful, happy things happening every day. I wish the news stations would carry more uplifting stories. Watching tragedy day in and day out not only desensitizes us to horror, but it gives us the false impression that we live in a terrible, cruel world. While I agree that there is evil out there, I also believe that there is more good. It's just not being reported.

Ironically, I learned about sex and Santa in the same year. (See my Santa thread.) I was both very naive and very wise. I learned about sex from my friends. I learned about Santa from my 5th grade teacher. Seems like it should be the opposite, right? Smile
