EstellaJoined: 1/30/07 Posts: 346 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I just recently discovered an Irish Breakfast tea that I love in the morning. Ginger peach is nice, Chai is good. Peppermint is very soothing. A tea has to fit my mood for the day. I keep many choices around for that reason.

EstellaJoined: 1/30/07 Posts: 346 | Posted: 2 yearss ago Googly gal, I love chai with steamed milk (not soy) and sugar, too, but I like it more in the winter. Seems a little heavy for summer. When eating Texas BBQ, you must have iced sweet tea! My dad drinks about 10 cups of hot Lipton tea everyday. I swear it's prolonged his life...so many antioxidants. He also drinks a couple of scotch and sodas a night. Might be that, too, or a combination of both. Estella

EstellaJoined: 1/30/07 Posts: 346 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I always looked forward to a weekend alone with the kids. Things were less formal, and we did more silly stuff than when Dad was around. Our house was always the party house, so I usually invited a bunch of kids for sleepovers, cooked for an army, rented videos, stayed up all night, etc. It sounds like you have the right idea. Enjoy! P.S. I am a big believer in dad's weekend away and mom's weekend away, too. Remember that you are not only a parent but a person who has many interests besides kids. I have had an annual trip with women who have been my best friends for years. We are all spread out around the country, so we pick a fun city to meet around our birthday. (We are all within a month of each other!) It's a great way to recharge our batteries and remind us of who we were before we were moms.. Estella
EstellaJoined: 1/30/07 Posts: 346 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I always wanted two. I grew up with one sister, and I felt that was the perfect size family. When I found out I was pregnant with twins, I thought "Perfect! One pregnancy...how every efficient."

EstellaJoined: 1/30/07 Posts: 346 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I agee that you need to start with something positive about what has happened thus far. Don't go in with your mad face on or you will get nowhere. The success of a parent teacher conference depends on both parties being open and friendly and willing to listen as much as talk. Good luck to you!

EstellaJoined: 1/30/07 Posts: 346 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I'm too "complicated." ( I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard that!) And I expect too much of people. So people disappoint me. And I hold a grudge forever. If people are kind and loyal to me, they are my friends for life. If they betray me, I erase their names out of my address book ( literally...everyone's there in pencil) Estella
EstellaJoined: 1/30/07 Posts: 346 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I have to say that I worried about all of these things equally. But then, I am the consummate worrier. In high school, drinking was the thing I obsessed about the most. Mostly I worried about drinking and driving. I trusted my own kids much more than the friends who they rode around with. My kids made it through the teen years relatively unscathed because of lots and lots of talking. They were not angels, but they avoided trouble for the most part. I would not want to relive their teenage years. They took years off my life!

EstellaJoined: 1/30/07 Posts: 346 | Posted: 2 yearss ago I was at a furniture store recently and the salesman smelled so good I followed him around for a few minutes pretending to shop for things I didn't need. I was too embarrassed to ask what he wore. A week later, I was back in the furniture store and there he was still smelling great. Finally, I had to ask. He said it was Ralph Lauren Sport ( the blue stuff). He said he hates it, but his wife gave it to him and he had to wear it. Does anyone have a husband who wears this? Can I come over to sniff?
