My very young son caught a lizard one day by the tail and the tail popped off. He was distraught, but I explained that it would grow back. Later that night we went to a basketball game. As we walked up the bleachers we passed a  man who was a paraplegic. My son pointed to where his legs should be and yelled, "Mom, his legs will grow back, too, won't they?"

I sleep like a vampire in a casket...flat on my back, arms at side, pillow under knees and head. I wake up in the exact same position. I don't think I move at all during the night. And I sleep very lightly. If someone just looks at me, my eyes fly open. I can't fall  asleep with any noise, so  no TV in the bedroom.  I sleep in my birthday suit.

I have to disagree on #5 and #10 of what not to buy a woman. I love coupons for pampering treats, and I love to get CDs. I'm not sure I would agree with what not to get a man, either. If they are into tools (mine isn't), then why not? Get him whatever he loves. Same goes for a woman, although V-Day is not the time for a practical gift like a vacuum cleaner. Save that for Christmas or some other less romantic time. I prefer a getaway for Valentines Day. It doesn't have to be far away, just so there is a change of scenery.

I am really sad I have to miss the Grammys tomorrow night. I'm invited to a business dinner I can't get out of. Maybe I'll catch the tail end of the show. I'm a sucker for the Academy Awards and the Grammys. The others I can take or leave, but if I stumble onto them, I'll watch. I do think it's strange that songs from two years ago are just being nominated now. I'd like it to be more current.

I've said it before, but I like to go back and delete posts sometimes. Call it second thoughts. When i click on delete, it sends me to Reply to Thread. This has made me less willing to open up in posts since I see it as non reversable.

My thumb is green. My house looks like a greenhouse with plants that have been around for 20 years. Plants love my house because it is very sunny with lots of windows. The plants are beginning to take over, but I can't part with them. They've become family members. I do cut them back when they get straggly. Some tropical plants enjoy a daily misting. Miracid in the soil is a good fertilizer. I've heard coffee is good, but I've never tried it.

I did get to catch the tail end of the Grammys. Sorry I missed John Mayer and Prince, though. Did anyone watch the whole thing? How was it?

My niece is expecting twins and is due in early June. Yesterday she started bleeding and went to the emergency room where she will spend another night for observation.  Has anyone had this problem? Is it serious? She is very tiny to be carrying twins, and she is already very pregnant looking.

When my son was around 4 or 5 he kept disappearing into the master bathroom and locking the door. He would stay there quite a long time. He did this several times a day. Nobody goes to the bathroom that often, but he would claim that's what he was doing. One day I noticed that when he came out there was always a Fredericks of Hollywood catalog on top of the magazines. ( I don't know why I received that..never ordered from them) I would put it on the bottom of the stack. It would happen again and again. Finally, I threw the catalog away. The next time he locked himself in the bathroom, I could hear him frantically rifling through all the magazines. He came rushing out and said, "Mom, did you throw any magazines away?" I said, "Yes, which one are you looking for?" He replied with a blush and a stammer "Uh, um, uh...Fred...Fred......Fred......Fred Flintstone!"

1. Romeo and Juliet -the original with Leonard (what a butt!) Whiting and Olivia Hussey.

2. Breakfast at Tiffany's- melancholy and sweet.  George Peppard is dreamy.

3. Barefoot in the Park- Robert Redford was never so adorable.

4. Doctor Zhivago- sweeping epic love story. Especially love them making love on furs in the ice mansion.

5. Wuthering Heights- I've been searching for Heathcliff ever since I saw this in high school. I've never cried so hard at a movie.

The newer movies don't seem nearly as romantic to me as these classics.

Nobody believes me, but I'm shy.

I like to give  unsolicited medical advice.  I did a past-life regression and was told I used to be a doctor in Malaysia. Little did the psychic know, but my grandfather was born there and lived there as a boy.

I like to have my cake and eat it too.

I am addicted to jewelry, particularly earrings. .

I never take anyone's advice and am very rebellious in a quiet way.

I clean in the nude and have been caught with nothing on but the radio.

Oh, this is fun! I feel better already.

What do y'all think about Shaq joining the Suns?

Anyone watch the Celtics and Spurs? I'm a huge Spurs fan. Hate to see them lose.

I hope to see the Suns win the title this year. Last season( and all seasons previously) I was 100% for the Spurs, although their Renaissance ended when the Admiral retired.  Now I'm about 60/40 Spurs/Suns.  I think Shaq will energize the team. Not only is he huge, but he has a huger than life attitude, and I like that. He is witty, entertaining and should be fun to watch. Big guys can't run like little guys, but then they don't have to. I'm tired of reading how old he is, how slow he is, etc. Any guy who is 325 lbs with 12% body fat is in impressive shape. Naysayers, beware!
