Posted: 2 yearss ago Hey Raine this really is an good question looking forward to seeing how many differant answers you get on this one. For me , I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wi. I lived there all my life hardly venturing the state ... until I met my dear hubby. Then I was traveling around neighbouring states and when I was 27 or 28 we moved to Charleston SC as his first duty station and well AFTER THAT, we've seldom been back . Our kids spent early yrs in SC Then Naples Italy , brief spell in NYS, a season in New England, then season in Stoningtonton Burrough Ct. Then here Norfolk Va. where weve resided several yrs. Sammi was in 2nd grade when we arrived and we managed to stay and allow both she and her older sister to Graduate high school here. though our last transfer came about 3 mths prior to Sams graduation and 18th bday. My hubby went ahead to Oahu Hi. and I stayed here with my girls he came back for the ceremony and then I made arrangements for a friend to stay in our house and care for the bird the fish and 2 of the 3 dogs we had then . a week or so after Sept. 11, Sammi and I were flying to Oahu, her terrified for obvious reasons, in Oct Katie came with the hotdog Beethoven , and hubby and I fell in love with Islands The girls were homesick for Va , they came back took over house eventually then begged us to come back as hubby had retired there sigh they ran into trouble so I came home and 7 mths later hubby returned here also.. and thats our story Phil 4:8 think on those things that are true,honest,just,pure,lovely and of good report,if there be any virtue any praise, think on these things prov.22:7 for as we think in our hearts ,so are we.... antygamma Joined: 1/11/07 Posts: 3827	Title: Lisa's Feature -- Ice, Snow and Cold Posted: 2 yearss ago Having grown up in Wi, I can relate Lisa, Momrocs, I can Honestly say I DO NOT envy either of you sigh. I used to love the snow but after a few yrs of snow.cold free life in Hawaii, well suffice it to say that I am simply Miserable just freezing my fanny off here in Va. Still Very Grateful that we live in a pocket on coast that is generally protected from the snow, ice and most of the hurricanes worst threats even ... so I oughtent complain... the temps are just getting to my bones though and my joints and I think that when our we get all our ends closed here were looking for a warmer climate to really retire in lol So to all you snow and ice bunnies out there God keep you warm safe and well excercised shoveling and working harder to even walk uprite in the winds on the ice and all that jazz and may you have warm cozy fireplaces and lotsa wood to keep em burning GOD Bless you Phil 4:8 think on those things that are true,honest,just,pure,lovely and of good report,if there be any virtue any praise, think on these things prov.22:7 for as we think in our hearts ,so are we.... Posted: 2 yearss ago try the oldest standbye known to man mom chiken soup you can puree it if you have to but Ie found that like the pops babes seem to to better on teething gums when theres something to stimulate chewing its liquids i broth is healthy and they even have babyfood soup now Keep offering the breast frequently and its ok if he can just take a few sips and let him sniff mint to open airways peppermint extract wil open em quick but to strong to feed good to sniff Father I lift up this little one to you to hea quickly help him eat and drink and give both he and mom peace and comfort as its Always hard to watch our little ones suffer thru Anything Lord we feel Soo helpless as we want to make it better, yet You can So TY God for making it better today. Posted: 2 yearss ago I was terrified KK wouldnt live past 5 , and she nearly didnt either 5th was Very rough, and when her sis was born that 5th year I worried over both my babies , how Id cope alone Daddy was in Navy and not around But as KK was in out of hosp and body casts and thereapy as I was delivering Sam, and yr after I learned to trust God Fully and that He gave me My kids as I was Best teacher/mom for them ready or not ... And that all that chaos was growing me as mom fast And I knew I could handle anything after that year. Ideally ,as a Biblically centered concept, I believe that if possible the husband is responsable for being Primary wage earner, making at least enough to support the family when life happens and its all there is to be relied on. However, In biblical days women worked also, they had businesses , ran families worked the fields etc.... Yet the husband is the Head of house there Has to be a headship in all, . Still when it comes to Handling the finances I believe that whoever is best suited to task Should Do it. It Should be team discussions on decisions , ideas equally shared and regarded, and weighed with a leader to make final calls executive decisions lol , My hubby is a procasinator extraordinaire, and he was like hubby mentioned above. we went SOOO deep and god se4nt an Angel to save our behinds and get he and I back on right track Now I know he has to answer to another Human angel so hes truly trying to learn but if you are headed for trouble Please get Financial counsel Before its too late And Learn to work Together even with his headship Marraige is a Team Effort, and all aspects of finance, child rearing, values, etc... = team input and team decisions respect love trust . My kids used to write me Im sorry notes I love you notes and sweetest cards I miss them honestly. My Daddy sends a newspaper pic , or just a line but when I see a Love dad wowwwwww i still have letters and cards from all my loved ones over the yrs and used to love going to the mail even CHRISTMAS GREETINGS ARE BECOMING EXTINCt !!!!!!
