antygamma Joined: 1/11/07 Posts: 3827	Title: Head Lice Posted: 1 years ago You are brave to post but the fact is this is still most common problem in school age kids especially kids with dry clean hair as the cleaner the hair the easier nits to stick and reproduce. Thats what the nurse and drs told me at that time. I had thought ridiculous when I saw a school chum goin to school w baby oil slathered all in her hair and little bugs looked like fleas smashed in her head.eewwww still makes me shudder , but I stood corrected when it was explained by Drs office. All you feel is NORMAL Trust me... In some states there are mandatory head checks due to climate and health hazards of embedded louse..... I learned YEARS ago that washing hair every day simply kept my girls a target and so we started only washing few times weekly and helped dramatically. kid next door kept getting from her step sister and was viscious circle one yr. You seldom find on children whose heads are greased as eggs cant stick. Just realize this is age old problem and even if they dont share hats combs etc... lice can jump from ones hat or sweater even in cubbys ... fortunately its easy enuff to eradicate w right treatment so blessings to you. its not fun but on the bright side Meme told me her momma used kerosene and hours of combing that burning stinky baaaad stuff thru their hair!!! I take our treatments one trick I learned was to keep a cup in br w fresh light solution for the combs and brushes till it was entirelely eradicated dr said was ok Phil 4:8 think on those things that are true,honest,just,pure,lovely and of good report,if there be any virtue any praise, think on these things prov.22:7 for as we think in our hearts ,so are we.... The scan is the easy part and please please try to stop worrying about results remember think on that which is GOOD honey. Thats how you are going to help her recover no matter what. I spent over a yr in Peds wards for my KK, when she was five , dragging my baby to and sending her home each nite. So I DO know what surgery and scans and hospilizations w serious med problems can mean. But ultimately , our job is to stay brave ,calm and reassurring and strong for our babies. So Hang on to God and your family and all of us who love you, but dont let fear rule . I know you cant help but worry , yet FAITH is the key here!!!! I love you Leeann and You are in my prayers sweety. Posted: 1 years ago When we were young I think he have been OK but as we age I think some ways Grumpy would do a better job than me . Hes great with all our charges , he does the laundry as laundry rooms upstairs and my knees dont always work, and hes good about dishes letting beasts out feeding. Cooking he can but wont anymore it would be fast food but I have a fantastic mate in very many ways And I hope he knows Ive always appreciated these fine points teehee. For holidays he always helps clean cook and decorate slow but steady. and he grocery shops too I love a few good opportunities to brag stead of Nag Yupper I think hed be a GREAT SAHD overall Phil 4:8 think on those things that are true,honest,just,pure,lovely and of good report,if there be any virtue any praise, think on these things prov.22:7 for as we think in our hearts ,so are we.... It sets a very IRRESPONSIBLE ....Bad example for a child of either gender. Plus, that aside, it sets up children for hurt and learning mistrust and that relationships dont last and on and on and on. I do not say any of this judgementally, if I judged the people , I would have to go back in time and judge myself. But my life as a young single mom taught me many things about the whys of rules God made and watching years of problems evolve has taught me even more. So I DO judge behavior . Promiscuous behaviour, not only puts us at risk, but our children too . I am not going on a long soapbox, but you asked and Im answering. If parents gets ill, children can be early orphans, if parents luck out and teach kids casual sex IS OK , they put kids at risk to get diseases themselves and lets face it they start younger and younger. Thats my thoughts and Im sticking to it.
