I know. Believe me I KNOW. It’s been a week. Forgive me bloggers, for I have sinned. I have sinned against you and all that is good and bloggy.
It’s been a very long week. I’ve been doing lots of things, none of them exceptionally exciting, however.
Right now, I’m watching the Brewers play against the Phillies and they’re winning 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, with Ryan Braun up to bat and the bases….they are loaded. Grand Slam? Yes, that would be delicious.
That’s really why I’ve not been posting. Because I’m mesmerized by the MLB playoffs and I cannot miss a game. I blame my father for my love of baseball. Years of growing up listening to the Brewers on the radio as Bob Uecker called the plays.
Also, I’ve been dissecting all things Election ‘08, such as the VP debates and reading the latest issues of TIME. I’m getting a little burned out from the campaign ads and all the passing of blame and attacking of the opposing candidates.
November can’t arrive fast enough for my liking, and yet I want to delay the month entirely so that I have more time for Christmas shopping. Seriously, you people sending me these e-mail notices of how many shopping days left until Santa shoots down my chimney….STOP. I mean really, I’d like to enjoy fall and Halloween and not worry about presents and wrapping paper and holiday cards.
Oh, and Kohl’s and Younkers? WTH is up with the freakin’ Christmas decorations already on display in your stores? The hell? Y’all are making me sick.
So, I’m back in Weight Watchers, after a week long detox. I eliminated starches and sugars from my diet for seven days (sort of a low carb thing) in order to get rid of water weight and toxins in my body. (This is because of my PCOS and I’ve got a post lined up for you about that.) I’m also going to the gym six days a week and making sure I walk the dog every night. I’ve dropped 6 pounds in ten days and I’m feeling better than ever.
I joined a mom’s group, MOPS, on Thursday and have met some great ladies in my local area. It’s nice to have a support group of other moms who go through some of the same things I do. I’m having a great time already. My friend L. is a co-organizer of the local chapter and convinced me to join. The group meets twice a month on Thursdays, at the same time that Dawson is in preschool. It’s perfect.
And then finally, I’ve been trying to find Halloween costumes. For me. Dawson’s is all good to go. I promised him I would dress up and I can’t find anything I like. Any ideas?
