Many of you may know that I have totally turned a new leaf in my life, a green one. I have been inspired by gas prices and just the way the economy is headed that I am determined to save some cash and the planet for my kids at the same time.
A couple weeks ago I posted in the forums about not using my dryer! YAY me, still haven't turned that thing on yet! I love hanging my cloths, I even can freeze dry them in the winter according to Papa Pinto(old timer, depression kid) wondering how much savings that will be? Yes I am awear that it's a li'l more work on my part, but it is so worth it! The feelings I get from doing better for my family by saving money and the planet are so worth the work.
I have convinced Jesse to let me use up what little yard we have on side and back part of house to turn it into veggie garden next season so I may can our own veggies from year to year. Not sure how much I'll be able to do though because our yard is very small. We will see though. This yr I have a small patch with just carrots, radishes, tomatos and peppers.
My most recent move in going greener has been my old school mower, It was free, I got it from one of my step fathers friends. It's an old push mower the kind that you have to move with no engine ,no gas, no fumes, and you get a hell of a work out using it! I'm so stoked about it! Jesse was a li'l bummed cause now we have a perfectly good gas mower that will just set , I told him to sell it:) let some one else worry about the hassles.
With a little hard work anything is possible, I will make a difference if not for the planet , then just my kids!
