Weekend in the van

Well, what a GREAT weekend we had in the Dodge Gran Caravan.  We got permission from Chrysler to take our test driver vehichle out of AZ, so we planned on going to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and then into NV to see some friends.  Well first piece of advise - check to see if the North Rim is open in the winter, due to weather it was closed - HHHUUMMM, bummer!

However, even with our detour we still had a great trip.  The kids were wonderful.  With all there was to keep them occupied - why would they not be?  Between the TV, DVD, and the Gamecube we brought - there was plenty to keep them all quiet, for the most part.  Hubby & I even got some satelite radio time in, when one was playing a game,t he other 2 had headphones on.  This was a downfall to the test vehicle, only have 2 wireless headphones in the van, with 3 kids we had to pipe through the speakers.

My kids had a great time though, can I just tell you there was a Suite Life of Zack & Cody Marathon on this weekend.  I think I can repeat every episode. HEHE!  I did not even get away from it when we got home last night, there was a Zack & Cody Goes to Hollywood movie on, so it was even on in the girls' room - UGH!

The stow away compartments are amazing.  I love this feature.  We got everything in its own spot, and the only thing on the floor was the gaming system and feet.  No stuffed animals, no food, no igloos - it was AWESOME.  So nice to not have to tell the kids "Don't step on the chips."

Our weekend adventure was great, it was a nice quiet(most of the time) roadtrip.  The engineers and plant workers did a very nice job in the design of this vehicle and all the "extras" on this vehichle make for a great family auto.  The only aspect that I have a problem remembering is the camera in the dash when you are backing up, after 20 years of looking over my shoulder, kind of hard to break that habit.  Everytime I turn around my littlest says "mom there is a picture right here for you"  I keep telling her - "safety first Amanda", not 'mommy is gettingold and forgetful.' HEHE!

The trip home was something of another story, I will leave it as my kids were kids about 30 minutes from home, so I guess they were not transformed by aliens when they dropped off my test van.  They are still my kids, and could smell home was close.

I really looked forward to tonight of starting my carpool for T-ball and basketball, however my oldest is home sick today - so I am not sure if I will be able to do.  I must say this is the first time I have ever been disappointed to make the "I am sorry" calls to the other parents on the teams.

Nice work Chrysler!  You make a mother's life ENJOYABLE when it can be used, and a little disappointing when we know we won't be driving it. Lots of love to you for the great work!
