Latkes are a traditionl food that are eaten on Chanukah. They are essentially potato pancakes pan-fried in oi. Very delicious and easy to make! ^_^
Ingredients:
4 large Russet potatoes
2 eggs
3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 Teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup onion, grated
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Apple Sauce
Sour Cream
Peel and grate potates and pour off liquid. Beat eggs and add to potatoes and all other ingredients. Onoin is optional (But it does make it taste better). Drop mixture by tablespoon, until the latke is approxiamately 4 inches in diameter, into a well-oiled fying pan. Turn with a spatula and brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with apple sauce and/or sour cream. Enjoy!
