Hey Shelice, It's hard because when I was that age I think that I read a lot of girly type books like the secret garden and little women. I do remember really love "A Wrinkle in Time" and that whole series by Madeleine L'engle. Also, The C.S. Lewis series is good. I have heard the the Horatio Hornblower (adventure on the high seas!) books are good. You might also try the classics like Treasure Island or Mutiny on the Bounty. How exciting! I can't wait to read some of those books to my little girl! Right now we are stuck on the "touch and feel" series, hahaha. "Touch the baby calf's velvety fur."

It is sooo fun. Right now my son and I are reading a sci - fi book. It is easier with my girls. We read Little House on The Prairie and Nancy Drew. It is so fun! Thanks for the great suggestions for my son. I'll have to go check those books out at the library!

This is a must-have book for all Arizona East Valley mommy's (and daddy's)! It's called "The Arizona Mama's Handbook". It's really great! It's just a great book of resources from around the valley. From restaurants to support groups, places to go and things to do, this book has it all! I really urge anyone to really to go and flip through the book and see what it's really all about! You won't regret it! ^_^

Shelice a bought Connor at age the Bible Almanac for Kids....   It says on the cover.....A journey of Discovery into the wild, incredible, and mysterious facts & trivia of the Bible.   It has fun Activities riddles experiments puzzles creative challenges.   Everything a kid want to know about the bible from A to Z    (white stone books)

I really enjoy this book for Connor is lets him think about it and relates to his level.  It compares things that kids can ask questions and understand but also gives stories that help.   I really thought this was something That Connor has been able to have fun with also with his cousins and the Twins.  its very interactive also.

  Just my thoughts!!!!

Shelice,

Do they still do the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books? I don't know if anyone remembers those, but they were great when I was a kid. My brother and I would read those things over and over. If they still make them, that's not a bad bet. : )
