Title: How scary is "Meth"
Posted: 2 yearss ago

My husband and I watched a special on "Meth" and how people from all walks of life are getting addicted and hooked. What an ugly drug. All drugs are ugly, but this one is just downright UGLY.

And the worst part, it's very popular right now. How scary is that?

Has anyone talked to their kids about this specific drug? Has anyone had to deal with this? Something involving "Meth" is on the news here in arizona almost every night. Is it that bad in other states?

Unfortunately, I think kids are less concerned with the physiological hazards of drug and alcohol abuse than they are with simply getting "caught". They think they're invincible. Hopefully, giving kids real information, as well as showing them "before and after" photos of meth addicts will make it clear how quickly and thoroughly that kind of poison can ruin them. It's not about getting caught. It's about getting dead. Nasty stuff indeed...

Oh, I agree! I always take opportunities to tell my kids the dangers of drugs. I let them know what will happen to your mind, your appearance, and the risk of death. I even do the same about alcohol. Our family has a lot of alcoholism on both sides, and I worry so much about my kids following in their path. Drugs and alcohol prevention is very important to me since I lost my father due to drugs, and my brother was also headed in the same direction.

I think kids (teenagers) think a lot more about their appearances, than anything else. Focusing on how much their appearances will change, I think will make a big difference. I know when I was in school, and we would learn the effects of drugs on your body, mind, and family nothing got my attention more than when they would show faces before then after drugs. Very scary!!

It's a huge problem, some might say an epidemic. It's just so dangerous and bad for you, on a whole new level when compared to alchohol or marijuana. From what I have read and heard, people will do almost anything to get it once they are hooked. That's a serious problem.

In my line of work I have dealt with alot of drug users and it is amazing how many from different walks of life are high.  I have taken scumbags all the way up to suit and tie guys to the hospital cause they have done something stupid while being high.

My last shift on Thursday night we got a call for a woman who owns a fancy dancy business up in Payson was sitting in a car in an empty dirt lot. So when I got there the police was there and she was obviously high on something (dont know what it was) and very suicidal. I was the only female there and I was able to comunicate with her somewhat. In the end she was taken to the hospital with superficial wounds to her neck and both wrists and ended up being restrained with leather straps cause she just flipped out.

Drugs can really mess up people and especially kids dont seem to understand that it is adictive and will end up killing you by either them ODing or doing something stupid like driving high or whatever.  Kids have got to realize that they are not invincible and can died in an instant if they choose to do somethin stupid. Seen it all too much in my line of career.
