How annoying it is to be overdue... i'm overdue by three days i was due on the 20th and my little girl seems to have no intention of coming out. we were half effaced but not a bit dialated at the last appointment. Its so annoying being overdue and wanting to see my precious little baby but i cant yet. Also i have Toxemia so i have to lay down all day and i'm not allowed to get up that much. I've done so many wordsearches and read so many books that i'm about to go insane without this little kid getting here and fast!! Its getting to me so bad that this morning one of my nails flaked off (they've never been long untill i got pregnant, i couldnt grow them) and i almost started to break down and cry!!:eek: So is anyone else in this situation? thanks for listening to my rant... -Mary

Hi Mary! I'm so sorry to hear that you are overdue! Hopefully by the time you read this you will have your little one with you! It's going to be worth the wait -- just hang in there and try not to overdue yourself! Amanda

i totally understand you i was a week or so over due my son was supposed to be born on march 22 2006 and he didnt arrive until april 2 2006 and i have to say last week was absolutly miserable i was in so much pain and discomfort and the sad thing was i ended up having a emergency c-section my contraction were coming so strong they were losing his heart beat. so your not alone good luck mechelle

I went two weeks past due with my first little girl but I was dilated at 2.5 for over a month. It stunk specially in 115 degree weather. I did not have to lay down all day, but thats all I really wanted to do, it was to hott to do anything else. Finally I got to 3 and was kept in the hospital and they enduced me Good luck and be patient, sometimes it's a good thing like my case. My daughter was only around 3-4 pounds when my due date came, then when she came she was 7lbs 14oz...so sometimes they are just not ready

my doc keeps telling me that she's gonna be a twelve pounder... grrr he can annoy the crud out of you sometimes... but yeah i'm measuring right at thirty nine to fourty weeks now so i dunno...

I've been there too! I went in to have my son the tuesday before August 20th, and he decided he wasn't ready. lol, The doctors told me that I would more than likely be in on the weekend, nd if not, to go in The following Tuesday morning (20th). I showed up Tuesday morning, and right away the broke my water. from 10a.m. until about 8 ish at night, I was pumped up with oxytocin (Labor inducer) and was feeling pretty crappy. Once I was 41/2 dialated, they gave me my epideral, and I dilated to amost 9 in under 45 min. For the next 2 1/2 hours, I was pushing during the "hard labor" which sucked because the doctor decided I didn't need the epideral to push, so I felt EVERYTHING!!!!! My son had a big head too! I had three episiodemies, and I still tore. Not to fun, but he was finaly born a grumpy but healthy 9 lb, 5 ounces. You'll get there, just don't be afraid to ask for an epideral. If you baby has any "issues" with comming into the world on time, make it less stressful for yourself. Gimme the Drugs Baby! lol

Hang in there! The last weeks are the hardest and worse. Every time you get a little cramp you think "Is this it?" and start timing. it makes me crazy! I think it's that way because it makes labor seem like a welcome relief from all the uncomfortable days and nights! It will all be worth it when you get that little baby in your arms. (You're probably thinking easy for you to say - you're not 10 months pregnant! )

lol you guys have made me feel a little better but i'm still pregnant i go to the doc today at four so i'll update you on what he says. we are going to try to strip the membranes if i'm dialated at all. today is officially nine days overdue...

good luck my wife had her membranes striped and nothing happened but there is that discomfort thing as far as the epidural that i hear is the way to go but my wife pushed for 3 hours and could really only push with one side before they finally said he is stuck and went for the c section watch out the epidural may get you sick but hey better late than early right i hope he she greets the world soon i dont know if you are a parrent yet but holding the baby the first time is the most amazing feeling in the world im one of thoose macho guys and i cried when they pulled him out i hope you progress swiftly are you going to have an induction if there is a lack of progress? that how we ended up its really not bad much more controll over the situation well good luck and congrats to you and your sig other on the baby good luck and dont be scared the hardest part is listening to the man saying its no big deal and its easy i realize now that is not wish you well and your baby healthy russ

ok now i'm a bit scared... i was one centimeter dialated.. and he said he wants to induce on tuesday. i'm really scared of the induction casue first off he said he wants to put a balloon in my cervix to help it dialate.. that sounds painful... also he said i wont be able to move around while on the pitocin and i really wanted to have a natural birth or as natural as possible....
