hehe funny this is up... i walked by the tv today and saw my old soap that i watched in jr high and high school... it was the guiding light... I just looked at the screen and saw how home video ish the filing looked and how reeva/reba has gained lotsa weight (glad I'm not alone) and said wow. and kept walking.

I was reading this earlier. I really don't think that Soaps will end just because we all like alittle drama! It is sad that two of the best actors are leaving Days. For those that are always at home we need some type of intertainment other than cleaning, and keeping up with the kids. I like Days and will always watch just as long as its intresting

I think part of the downfall with SOAPS is that most of the viewers that they use to target - us women - are now working, at playgroups, involved at kids school etc.  Even today's SAHM is not in front of TV watching.

I do catch up every once in awhile on SOAPNET, but I read my daily updates.  It is disheartening that it is slowly coming to an end, as it is always nice to see someone more screwed up and stupid than you even if it is made up drama.

I loved the Luke / Laura reunion on GH the past couple of weeks, they are history in SOAPS and there will never be another couple like that.  I think they were the "official super couple".

Although, just like everything else, all things must come to an end, but now even though some do not like soaps, there time slot will only be filled by other senseless stuff on TV.

My mother watched Days, as did my Grandma, but like Kmom said, I can't imagine sitting down to turn the TV on IF we're home. I don't necessarily believe this mentality is a good thing either. I wish I would allow myself to sit for an hour and have some me time. It would probably benefit everyone!

I actually keep track of a couple of them.  I do not watch them as they are on but they do get recorded.  My hubby works nights so sometimes I sit here with my laptop and have them playing in the background.  That said, if for some reason I get super busy and get behind I just delete them.  I for sure do not have time to sit down and watch a whole week at one time to catch up.
