Are you one that likes to keep your childs hair neat and tidy, making sure your son has super trimmed hair and your daughters hair is just so? Do boys have to have short hair in your home and girls long?

That's almost a comical question to ask me because one of my biggest problems is my daughter's hair!!! It's so out of control and thin. Clips fall out. Ponytails hold long enough for ballet class, but if they're not falling out, she takes them out. She doesn't like having her hair done at all (even though she's totally into the princess world). My only bet with Anna is to keep her hair short until it thickens up enough to grow it. I don't mean she'll look like a boy, but just above the shoulders for her is what works. I can brush it with water and condition it or use a spray gel and it still gets loose and twisted and looks unbrushed by the time we get to the car.

My son on the other hand, isn't really having this problem. He was bald for the longest time and now, well, he's 2 and his hair is still at his head. It's not hanging down just yet, but I like either on a boy. I like short hair, or the shaggy hair (my favorite), or the longer hair. Like, I think Kate Hudson's kid looks horrible, but that's just me. The style may work on some people, but not on her son.

My girls' hair is long.  My eldest has really long hair and my youngest daughter has decided to let her hair grow long.  She wanted a baby bob over summer and she looked adorable.  With all the curly hair in this house, longer hair is better for the girls.

My boys' hair on the other hand, needs to be short.  Not because I don't like it longer, but my eldest son has curly coarse hair that needs a shorter style.  Not too short, or his scar shows.  My youngest son has stick straight hair and prefers not to comb it. LOL!  I give him the crew cut and he is soooo happy.  No combing necessary!Wink

Well, we keep our son's hair longer.  However, I am very picky about the cut and take him in about every 6 weeks so that it is just so.  His bangs have to be just above his eyebrows when we walk out and once they are hanging below the eyebrows we go back.  He have layers to help with less tangles (which are few and far between) and to accent his curls, plus it helps give is somewhat of a casual look.

Meg has long hair- I love it.  Her hair is thin and I can't bring myself to cut it!

Nolan has a bowl cut we cut it an inch above his ears then when the hair reaches his ears it gets cut.  DH is pretty particular about Nolan's hair!

For my daughters long hair (but we quite haven't acheived that yet the oldest is 2 1/2(Jenna) & still never had a hair cut!!, It doesn't want to grow!! and its super thin!! &  Tia is only 2 months has a little hair. My 2 sons well, my 8 yr. old likes it kinda long so he just puts palmade in it sticks up all over & my hubbie & youngest son both of them I clip their hair every other week because they like it shaved- so they don't have hair to worry about in the morning.

Gabriel's hair is short.  He actually just got his very first haircut last Friday. I was sort of sad.  my little baby's little curl is gone.  He looks like such a little boy now.. not a baby anymore. Joshua is only 3 months and has a ways to go for a haircut.  I am sure we will keep both of their hair short until they are interested in a particular style.

Liv wants to have long hair and ask for it allthe time. it just wont grow. she looks sweet with the lil bob thing but it is going out a lil now...we will see. I kinda let them decide as long as its clean i dont care whe at they are doing with it.

simons hair varies it was pretty shaggy when i cut it the first time right after his first bday, in the summer we just take the clippers to it, it helps keep him cooler and doesnt get and clumpy with sweat, winter we let it grow out and take him for trims. currently his hair is crazy and he can get some mad bed head he keeps saying he wants it cut but the top and bangs arnt really long enough yet but the sides and back are kinda shaggy so tim said we are taking him to get a trim this weekend. oh and his hair is super straight just like mommy and daddies and it grows pretty fast just like mommies hehe.

Emma has long, thick hair.  Randy keeps wanting to get it cut short, thinking it will be easier to take care of.  But, being that I am the only one who has anything to do with fixing her hair, I said that I like the length- it's so easy to do braids, ponytails, etc and that helps keep it from getting all tangled.

For Timothy, I have just been buzzing it (not down to nothing, but relatively short).  As of right now he has no style preference, and it's just easy and fast (and free!).  When he gets older, he can choose what he wants to do with it, but this is working well for now.

For both of them, as long as they take care of it and keep it clean, combed, etc, I don't really care what style they go with.

my son is a teen and i went to wake him up the other day (teens really dont like getting up for school!). i gave him a good poke in the back of the head. well, i thought it was the back of his head! turns out i poked him in the eye! LOL! he has very thick, very curly red hair. the envy of every girl in school! right now, he does not have a head but he does have hair!

when he was younger, i would give him a crew cut as it was easier to wash and comb. but as he got older, i chose this as a battle he could win. i have better ones that i WIN! LOL!

my daughter had long hair til she was 8. right down to her knees! then it was kept short to her ears. she has a face that can do just bout any short style. except one year when she was a teen. her hair grows in uneven and it looked awful! she refused to get a trim. i used to be a cosmotologist but i offered to pay for a salon cut. she refused. one day right before school pictures, i crept into her room and cut a huge hunk on one side while she was sleeping! LOL! i WON! she got it cut. i just wanted nice pictures that year.

she tried telling some teachers i had abused her. when they asked what i did, she told them and they laughed! one person asked me how i did it so they could do the same for their teen! LOL! she would go to the salon every 6-8 wks to keep it from looking that bad again!
