Everyone, this is a very, very sad day. It's hard for me to do this right now. I promise I will do this again, with more details on the life of my grandma, who you all know as Great Granny. My amazing grandma, Shirley Williams, passed away last night.

She loved life, her family and God. Her faith was unwavering, her heart was plentiflul and her wisdom unmatched. Grandma, I love you with all of my heart. I know that you will watch after us all, I miss you. We will see each other again.

We will do a special tribute to Great Granny. She has written many stories for MommyTalk, so we will post those as well. Her spirit will continue through with this site, as well as through her surviving family.

I love you grandma. Always have, always will.  

Very difficult news.

For those that did not get to meet Great Granny in person, well, 'Great' summed her up.  

She was, and will remain, a very special person.  A rare combination of forthrightness, wisdom, humor, and compassion.  Everything I heard come from her mouth had value, and it shows in those that she influenced.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Moss family.  May the joy she brought to you in her life sustain you through this period of grief.

I am so sorry!  I just recieved a PM from Great Granny yesterday and was looking so forward to getting to know her.

I'm sorry for you loss travis i'm sure she was a wonderful woman, mother and grandmother. I can tell she will be dearly missed not only by her family but by the people who cared about her and read her stories here on mommytalk. I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts throughout the coming hard weeks.

I am so sorry for your loss.  She will be deeply missed by all of us here, whom have grown to know her from her fabulous stories.  My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sadness - just remember all of us have one more angel in heaven now!



 

Although im new here I think that we all know how tough it is to loose someone so dear to everyones heart. I know this is a hard time for many people but here is a poem that is on the back of my grandmothers head stone: 

 

 

                         If Tears Could Build a Stairway                              
  If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I would walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

No fairwell words were spoken, No time to say goodbye, You were gone before I knew it, and only God knows why.

My heart still aches with sadness, and secret tears still flow. What it ment to love you- No one could ever know.

But now I know you want me to mourn you no more: To remeber all the happy times, life still has much in store.

Since you'll never be forgotten, I pledge to you today- A hollowed place within my heart is where you'll always stay.

I am so sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  Great Granny seemed like a remarkable women, one I would have loved to learn more from.  It sounds like you have many wonderful memories, cherish and reflect on those as it does help with the pain and sorrow felt.

My deepest condolences for you and your family, Travis. I know that it can be hard to let someone go and say good-bye until the "next life", but know that life still goes on and there are many people that love and support you. Things will get better, just give it some time and take care.

I am deeply sorry for Travis and your whole family.  I know This site was built with your whole family right there with all the support then can give.  From what it sounds like she has passed through so many lifes changing them and speaking wonderful words of encouragment.  For Family and friends loved ones and people Great Granny has touched she has changed you......made you love a litttle more and give a little more and laugh a little more.  I am so sorry for your pain and loss.  I was reading through the feature article and what a special comment you wrote back for Loraine from Great Granny.   I know you all are a close close family and everyone is family when they are your close friends also, so my prayers will be for all of you......I hope that you can walk through this a little bit stronger.....we are all here for you and we will pray for your lose.  May God bless you your home and your sadness.......from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet........Bless you.
