School starts here on Wednesday August 20th....Yayyyyyyy!!! I am ready for them to go back, it has been a tough summer. The kids are ready too. We have back to school night tonight to get them back in the swing of things and take a peak at what their classroom looks like. We started the earlier bedtimes last week, so far so good. We went back to school shopping friday ...oh my, spent over $300 on the two school aged kids. It seems like it just gets more and more every year and it is only going to get worse. New shoes, new clothes, new undies, new socks, school supplies, backpacks, lunch supplies (my kids love cold lunch from home). The good thing this year is that we moved and now are 4 blocks from school, we can walk to school. Save on gas. Maybe in a few weeks, I will even let them walk home from school by themselves (they are 2nd and 4th grade).  Good luck to all the mommies and may it be a blessed new school year.

School started on 8/11.  Had a huge eventful week starting the week before.

Tuesday 8/5 - Had a meeting at the school to speak to the entire staff about Booster Club/PTA that I am President of.

Friday 8/8 - Take school supplies that the BC bought for the entire school 556 kids worth of supplies - Man my back hurts.

Sunday 8/10 - UGH what a day - kids wired - went to bed ok, but. .

Monday 8/11 - What a morning kids up, but dragging.  but YIPPEE, the big day is here.

Wednesday 8/13 - Sam twist foot at school - sprains it.  Have Meet the Teacher Night / Cookout, speak to parents who attend and staff again, present booth, t shirt sales, etc.

Thursday 8/14 - Meet the Teacher Night for Kindergarten - here we go again

Friday - AAHHH, I really get to relax.

My two are in school already. They started the 11th. Nice to have a peaceful house again. At least for a few hours anyways. LOL.

Kids have survived their first week. My son works in the cafeteria. He thinks its soo cool. And hes making some fair amount of money.

School starts here in two weeks. My mother is taking Daniel into town on Saturday, and she will buy his school supplies and take him out to get his hair cut.  They have done this since Daniel has been in kindergarten. This year he enters the third grade.

Emma will be starting first grade on the 2nd.  So, it's coming up fast!  Next week is the Open House night to see her classroom and meet her teacher, so that will be nice.  I'm a little bummed because last spring, one of the first grade teachers retired (I think she was there when Randy was in school!) but she was AWESOME!  I haven't met Emma's teacher yet, but I'm sure it will be great.

Two weeks ago, Emma spent a week with my parents.  (Timothy had his turn back in May.)  Mom had planned to take Emma shopping one afternoon for some school clothes and supplies.  It ended up turning into a 2-day deal, since they spent 3 hours the first day just buying her supplies.  Yeah.  Mom said it took Emma an hour to pick out her backpack.  After half hour, she had it narrowed down to 4, and it took another half hour to pick her favorite.  And see, that's one of the benefits of shopping with Grammy- PATIENCE!!!!!  If she had been with me, it would have been about 5 minutes of looking at them before I would be saying "I am counting to 3, and if you haven't picked one, I will, and that's the one you will have!"  So the next afternoon they went clothes shopping and Emma decided that she really loved everything she tried on.  Again, a benefit of shopping with Grammy. Smile  So, they had an awesome bonding time, and we saved a lot of time and money (which is greatly appreciated!).  Mom and Dad also bought a backpack for Timothy, and I am still holding on to the hope that he will be able to use it this year.  We'll see what happens!

All of my kiddos started school on 8/11.  So far everybody is doing great and they all have wonderful teachers.  We've already had all of our Meet the Teacher nights and today was the PTSO meeting for one of the 3 schools that my children attend.

Things seem crazy busy now!  Is it almost Summer?!  Just kiddin'!Laughing
