Posted: 5 months ago Madelyn is starting to roll over in her sleep and is getting caught up in the bars of the crib and waking up at night. I am not sure what to do about this since Megan never slept in her crib. Is a crib bumper the answer? | |

I don't know if a bumper is your answer. There's a very good chance that she'll just get tangled up in that as well as the bars of the crib.

Posted: 5 months ago I had some nice deep handmade bumper pads which I tied tightly to corners of crib and middle .. Its never trapped a babe I know yet Tho Must be properly tied ... Sheets over sides of cribs if you can fit them to not be pulled off ... Im not personally that creative but once saw mom had done it .. Bothered me as I couldnt see in crib Phil 4:8 think on those things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report,if there be any virtue any praise, think on these things Jesus loves the little children !!! I went no bumper for awhile and experienced the same (getting stuck and waking) then put my bumper on.

I've only heard amazing things about this company. My girls never got stuck in the sides of the cirb. I took this from their website... check out the picture... may be just what you need.
Why a wedge-shaped bumper?
Traditional crib bumpers look great, but they have drawbacks. Some safety organizations say padded bumpers pose a SIDs risk. They can also help babies climb out of a crib. Plus, they make changing the sheets a big hassle!
CozyWedge bumpers fit snugly around the crib, won't slip down and are easy to remove for sheet changing. They cushion the crib for your baby but they have a safer, firm surface that won't form a pocket around a baby's mouth and nose. The shock-absorbing foam is the same foam used in swimming noodles, and is totally nonabsorbent, CFC-free and odorless. The slipcovers are completely washable.

They make a mesh one that you weave through the bars. I know you can get it at babies-r-us.

My little one had the same problem so I did a search for something to help and found a Crib Shield it worked great. Highly recommended!!! Crib Shields are the way to go.
