I think that sounds awesome there is nothing wrong with it as long as he's happy and he's not thinking he is a girl or what not. -Mary Some things i think about "What if a flower could end war?" "watching something so beautiful and knowing you made it...." "The most amazing thing in life is feeling it grow inside you"

He is definitely a rough boy and this is the only "girlie" thing that he has shown interest in..he likes to watch me cook. I'm making quite a good little man ; ) Now I just have to make sure that dad won't throw it away...

If you feel uncomfortable with getting your son the Easy Bake Oven, then perhaps you could consider getting him his own set of cooking utensils so that he can help you and Daddy cook in the kitchen. So not only will he satisfy his craving to cook and create, but he will also be spending time with Mommy and Daddy (It's great bonding).

I agree that there is nothing wrong with it. I think it is a great experience for any child to appreciate cooking. For a anyone, regardless of gender, it is important to know how to cook and to enjoy it - eating is a significant part of all our lives. Plus, several great chefs are male. As a parent, I also feel it is important that a child is able to express their creativity in what they are interested in. If he is interested in cooking right now, what is the harm? Personally I feel that not allowing him, is teaching to pass judgement in a negative way. I hope your husband has a change of heart!

I bought it and it was a hit! He made his own b-day cake and was so proud. Thanks for the feedback! |
