I don't like to heat up the house when it is so hot outside, so we grill. I love a good burger or hot dog on the grill....or chicken or steaks or pork chops or shrimp.......Ok, I am hungry now Stop and look how miraculous God is by the colors of the season. | |

We live in arizona - we grill all year! I've become a fan of grilled vegetables - you can take just about anything, brush it w/olive oil and sprinkle w/garlic salt or seasoned salt and throw it on the grill. We've done asparagus, red/green/yellow/orange peppers, eggplant, zucchini, sweet potatoes, onions . . m m m m just slice everything about 1/4" thick and grill hot and fast - don't turn your back. Also - salmon is super easy - put in heavy duty foil, sprinkle w/lemon pepper - seal the foil, and place on grill. We even do our potatoes in foil on the grill (dice, toss w/olive oil and seasoned salt or garlic salt) lay flat - cook till done.) And don't forget about shish kabobs for smaller stuff like mushrooms or cubed meat - steak/chicken/pork/sausage . . .

There's nice decor ideas on Safeway's grilling website if anyone would like to check them out heres the link grilling.safeway.com.cfm . I espcially like the Hanging Glowsticks. If you have a backyard these would be pretty to decorate with.

I love grilling, though I do not do it as often as I would like. My favorite is grilling veggies - the flavor is always so rich!

You may like this recipe. It's one of my favorites from the grilling website I gave before grilling.safeway.com Grilled Chicken and Asparagus with Crumbled Blue Cheese
2. While grill heats, arrange chicken, onions, and asparagus in 2 large, shallow pans. Brush all over with oil and sprinkle all over with tarragon, then salt and pepper to taste. 3. Lay onions on cooking grate; cover gas grill. Cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Turn onions over with a wide spatula, then add chicken to grill. Brown chicken on underside, 3 to 5 minutes. Turn onions and chicken over, then add asparagus. Cook, turning foods often with spatula and tongs, until chicken is no longer pink in thickest part (cut to test) and vegetables are tender-crisp, 5 to 10 minutes more. As ingredients are done, lift to a platter. 4. Arrange chicken, onions, and asparagus on platter. Sprinkle blue cheese on top. sound yummy? |
