Title: a birthday problem

My youngest daughter Ambry has a birthday on Dec. 26th. Thats the day after christmas. She will be turning one. How do I seperate the two occasions or do I not worry about it this year since she will only be one?

My daughter is turning one on thanksgiving day this year!  We are going to have her party on the 19th as a compromise.  I guess christmas is a bit bigger than Thanksgiving though.

My daughter's birthday is on Dec. 21st, so I understand the whole holiday/birthday seperation subject. My suggestion is to just start a good habit from the beginning and keep her birthday seperate from X-mas. I have known too many people whose birthdays have been ruined because they're parents merged the two celebrations.

It is actually not too hard to keep them seperate (in theory). Throw a seperate party for your daughter just as you would if they were born any other time of the year. Just don't skimp on the presents for them simply because it is the holiday time, trust me, they will notice if their brother/sister get more for their birthdays. If the date becomes an issue, celebrate the actual day with the family and choose another day for friends.

What is important is that you make a bigger todo about the B-Day because birthdays are special.. Yes I know several grownups whose B-Days fell on Christmas and a couple of days later and they didn't feel they ever got the true experience of their Birthday, so make it special, start now that way you get every one else to participate with you.

do you think it would be a good idea to have it a few days early or maybe a little later. that way there is a sort of seperation?

You could just have a separate small party for her.  That way you will have all those B-day pics : )
