Okay they do not have to be chick flicks- movies that you would watch with someone you love or you love to watch-that gets your romantic heart going.
1. I try to watch this every Valentines-my sis too-Return to Me with Minnie Driver like a classic old time movie- plus I love seeing all the Chicago landmarks-reminds me of when I was a kid!
2.Not romantic at all but A Time to Kill- it was one of our first dates and holding his hand watching that movie-great memories
3.Breakfast at Tiffanys- i watched it as a kid and thought I'd fall in love at Tiffany's in my lil' black dress
4.Sleepless in Seattle-need I say more
5. It is hard nowadays to get my husband to sit and watch a movie- he loves comedy usally with Chris Farley so Tommy Boy or Black Sheep- good for a laugh together

Mostly it's about the classics for me, but here goes.
I'm gonna cheat and lump three Nora Efron's together - You've Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally.
Casablanca. If you haven't seen it, or haven't seen it in a long time, you should see it soon. It defines the term 'classic.'
Gone with the Wind. Besides my daughter's name, this sweeping saga has several love stories, ultimately Scarlett's love of Tara, but Rhett is awesome and generally speaking, the movie rocks.
Like Water for Chocolate. I leaked like a sinking boat in this one. I think I was all torn up for the first time in my life, so the idea of such endearing love really crushed me. I should see it again, perhaps it wouldn't have the same effect, but from what I recall, it's a love story of and for the ages.
The Princess Bride. Arguably my all time favorite movie, the humor, the broad appeal, the use of 'As you wish' by Westley and Grandpa ... The movie is shear genius, and while it doesn't pack the dramatic punch of others on my list, I use the term 'as you wish' (or try to) almost daily, and for the same purpose.

1. Romeo and Juliet -the original with Leonard (what a butt!) Whiting and Olivia Hussey.
2. Breakfast at Tiffany's- melancholy and sweet. George Peppard is dreamy.
3. Barefoot in the Park- Robert Redford was never so adorable.
4. Doctor Zhivago- sweeping epic love story. Especially love them making love on furs in the ice mansion.
5. Wuthering Heights- I've been searching for Heathcliff ever since I saw this in high school. I've never cried so hard at a movie.
The newer movies don't seem nearly as romantic to me as these classics.

OMG! I just realized I forgot to put down one of my favorite ones...
Carlito's Way
It is not a 'romance' film but the love story in the movie is one of my favorites.
If you haven't seen it, it is a gangster type movie with Al Pacino (LOVE him in this movie) and Sean Penn.

Romeo & Juliette (The Leo & Claire one) – I love that this is modern, yet has the old language & classic story.
10 Things I Hate About You - Another modern twist to an old Shakespeare, I’ve adored this move since the 8th grade—probably because the sisters reminded me so much of my sister and me! Really, though, it’s one of those stories about love in unexpected places.
Breakfast at Tiffany's - love, love, love Audrey Hepburn! And George Peppard! And Tiffany!
Gone With the Wind – Long, dramatic and fabulous. Oh, and I live in Atlanta!
Pretty Woman – Only Julia Roberts can make a hooker look innocent AND make Richard Gere fall in love with her.

1. Notebook - what a remarkable story of true love finding - thinking it is lost and then finding it again and it lasting a lifetime to the end.
2. An Affair to Remember (Love Affair - remake, but still good) - OMG - what more can I say - how romantic, to discover she gave up love unselfishly and him finding her and giving himself to her unselfishly.
3. An Officer and a Gentleman - carry me away Richard!
4. Gone With the Wind - frankly Scarlett, you rock
5. Jerry MaGuire - HELLO -- he had me too. . .
