Great post RHo!

I have crazy skin... with freckels added for beauty....oily t zone, dry on the jaw line and most recently breakouts on my upper cheek bones near my hair line ewee...

I have been doing the same thing to my face since I was 12noxema then in early 20 added oil of olea for moisture.

over the summer my doc noticed some weird things on my face and gave me reatin A. they were lil sun bumps he said he wanted them gone so I used the cream and found it had other uses other then sun bumps.... this stuff is like gold.

been using on my breakouts and i see noticable improvments after just 2 uses...

I used on my whole face after I read that it is for many uses which included wrinkel reducer! ... bad idea...  made the ever dry jaw even dryer... so i just use on the places that need resufaceing forhead, cheeks and the eye area although it says not to use near eyes...hehe i can so see a difference.

and my biggest bonus is that it fades freckels! were was this stuff when I was 12?

in the past actually last winter I tried aveeno mostuizer instead of my oil of olea.... it was great too just a lil more $$$ you might try that for the dry patches... and stay hydrated I hear that does wonders for your skin.

I started using the Burts Bees facial products and LOVE, totally LOVE them.

I use the orange cleanser and the exfoliating scrub and the radiant day cream.

The cleanser and scrub both leave my face feeling clean and and moist.  At first, I felt like the soap wasn't coming off, but it was and I was just feeling not over dryed.  The cream gives this firming / lifting feeling, but not greasy.

The cleanser is $8.99, so compared to "specialty" lines not terribly expensive.  It also has lasted a couple of months so far.

I'm hooked!

Until I went to Burts, I was using the Aveeno moisturizer with the SPF15 and really liked it.  I too, switched from Oil of Olay.  Good suggestion!

try the philosophy microdelivery peel it works wonders on dry flaking skin, since you mentioned black heads you might also want to try the oxygen peel and hope in a bottle instead of hope in a jar. i currently have the makeup optional kit from them it comes with hope in a jar, purity, hope is not enough, hope in a tube,  the micro delivery peel and the microdelivery mini peel pads, the whole package was on sale for a decent price so tim bought it for me. oh how i wish i had more money i would try everything they sale hmm maybe i should make tim get ahold of the guy he worked with there he still owes us a discount hehe.

Good thread!  I agree!!!

I have tried ProActive and don't recommend it.  Neither did the aesthetician that I talked to a couple months ago.  For me, it did nothing for my acne and just severely dried out my face.  I was told that it can actually speed up the aging of your skin, which I personally don't really need. Smile

I have tried so many things for my skin- also have the swings from teenage acne to painfully dry, and nothing seemed to really work well...until this summer.  A friend of mine introduced me to Arbonne.  I tried a sample of their anti-aging skin care line for about 5 days and I really liked it.  So, I ordered some of my own.  While I was waiting for it to be shipped to me, I went back to the expensive stuff that I had been using that was supposed to be really good, and the first time using it again my face completely dried out.  I couldn't wait to get back to the new Arbonne stuff.  I am completely in LOVE with Arbonne now!  They have a regular skin care line, anti-aging, acne line, men's skin care line, make-up (LOVE IT!!!), weight loss and nutritional supplements, and all kinds of great stuff.  They also have an AMAZING baby care line.  If you would like any more info, just pm me.  I can also send samples to try.

Whatever you do, I wish you the best, because there is nothing worse than feeling yucky about your skin. Smile

Ok I had the same problem with the dry face and blackheads. Believe it or not what I use is so chap and simple. I use honey. I put some on before going to bed Ileave it on for about 30 minutes and then wasth it off. In the morning I put some milk on my face. It has helped my face feel clean and soft. I know it sounds weird but it helps. I haven't found any products that helps for me yet.

I'm using the Rhonda Ellison line right now and really love it. She has something for every kind of skin and every possible problem. I get it at my aesthetician's, but I bet you can order it online. I especially love the orange cleanser. It smells kind of fruity and fresh. My skin is sensitive, and none of her products bother me. Before this I have used Neutrogena products. They are cheaper and good for sensitive skin. Almay is even cheaper and good, too.
