So, this is a complex one. If you only have one child, it won't be sibling rivalry. Obviously. But really, there are a lot of ways kids can get on your nerves, love them as you do. So, what is it that gets under your skin?

My son will turn 2 on Feb. 1st, only child right now and given the age, I'm sure my "under the skin" item is minor...but for now I really get so annoyed with the grunting / whine he makes as his way to communicate, especially when I ask him direct & simple questions to figure out his need - a simple no / yes would be better then the noises.  He can communicate, but when he really wants something, he grunts / whines.

Trying to be sensitive to the fact that he is still limited in the words, but trying to make sure this does not develop into a habit.

Gotta love it and everyone tells me, once he starts, he won't stop talking...

My eight year old eats as if he hadn't had anything to eat in years. He puts as much food in his mouth and with two hands. I am trying to teach him how to take little bytes.

My six year old likes to tell on his brother's. I know little ones do this alot but he is a big boy now.

My soon to be four year old still has his accidents and does know where the bathroom is but gets lazy.

Well my two year old is still into everything so ill let it slide

My son,4,is really into tattle tailing. but he instigates it he will hit the girls and they will hit back and he tells. He also picks on the lil' girl I babysit

Both are nose picking

Megan opens every door in the house and turns on every light that she can then when I tell her "NO" she laughs-even when I put her in the corner she laughs. She is also spitting out her food Gross!

At the end of the hard days I watch them sleep- If they didn't look like angels when they sleep we wouldn't be able to handel their devilish behaviors!

The one thing that I find the most irritating,  at one time or another every one of my children has done it, not doing what is asked of them the FIRST time I have asked.  I know they hear me, they know what it was I asked, they can repeat it back to me just fine, but they AREN"T doing it! LOL!  You've just got to love selective hearing....my hubby has it too!Laughing

I can not stand "the mouth" Elliott seems to get sometimes!  He can be so mouthy and disrespectful.  OMG!!! I just want to slap his mouth sometimes!  (Don't worry I could never touch my handsome angel!)  And he is defiant to .  You tell him not to do something and he looks right at you and keeps doing it.

We are in the process of getting the evaluations for ADD.  And I have been making some changes in his diet too.

Sometimes I just want to cry.  And sometimes I just cry because I am so proud of him.  And most of the time I am laughing so hard I cry because he is so much fun!!!  So I guess it all comes out in the wash!!!

I don't like whining or trying to  get me to change my mind by asking the same question over and over. Ex: "Can I buy just one more toy? Please? Please? Please? Can I? Can I? Please? etc." No is no. Period.

mine has to be when my 12 year old never takes no for an answer.  i tell her NO and she will ask me AT LEAST 5 more times, even though she KNOWS every time that she will get the same answer!

I blow my top after about the 3rd NO! Frown  I guess because it happens almost daily with something.  It makes me insane!

I would have to say that Joyce does not listen to me no matter what I do with her. She also has gotten really mean with our dog. She is always hitting and kicking her. I cant stand it.

With Emma, it's definitely defiance and drama.  When she starts to get overdone at all, she just becomes sassy and defiant and it makes me crazy.  And the drama.....EVERY little tiny thing that doesn't go exactly the way she wants/expects, she bursts into tears and just freaks out.  It completely makes Randy crazy, and then he starts yelling, and things escalate, and I just want to run out of the house!  Ok, I'm better now. Smile

With Timothy, it's the whining and "I can't" thing.  But, at the moment, he is easier to reason with than Emma.  Generally, it's not too hard to get him calmed down and solve the problem.  And from the time he was old enough to walk, he started giving himself time-outs in his room when he gets really upset.  So that's really pretty cool.

I am trying to help the kids learn to find productive ways to relax and calm themselves down when they get upset, but it's slow going.  But hey, at least Timothy isn't screaming anymore. Smile

when he wants something and you tell him no and he lets out a long loud high pitched scream. saying everything is mine then when you tell him no or have to take it away the screaming fit starts with the fling backwards on the floor and doing other things that make him hurt himself so the fit gets even worse. throwing a fit when i take him outside and he doesnt want to go and he starts calming down so he goes and starts hitting his head on things just to keep the crying up.

The things that get under my skin are the nose picking and eatting it. If I tell her no and that its gross she will tell me yum and do  it again. The telling me no everytime I tell her to do something like pick up your toys or sit back down and finish eatting. Then when I punish her she laughs and hits me. Also if she refuses to sit back down and finish eatting I tell her all done and she will freak out but when i put it back down on the table she gives it to the dog.
