This is something I did as I got older in my house and we all wanted to do it. They featured it in the movie "Bed of Roses". How many other people actually did that?

Our kids could open one gift on Christmas Eve, but it had to be a small one, not the most-anticipated one. It's sort of a compromise for those who just can't wait.

When I was younger I dont remember opening any thing on eve. Lat year Joyce got to open one or two. Then the rest on Christmas Day. This year here we will be going to her Nana and Papa's and she will get to open what they got her. Which is alot. Her one great Uncle got her something and will be bringing it down today. So she will get to open that too. Since she got all of those nothing at home.

As a kid, we always went to midnight mass, came home to Santa having arrived while gone and then we opened all our gifts.  My kids open all on Christmas.  I have never put out any gifts under the tree early, as the dogs would chew on them and then they would know.  So it is all Christmas day at my house.

As a child  we went to church, then to dads mom graama k , and opened there.  went home  and at some point opened one , tho dont recall was before or after midnite   candle lite service.. Christmas day we opened at home then went to Gramma Z moms mom and did it there .... My family kept up the traditions  with our girls as long as we  could... but somewhere along the way , as we moved around , and finding the churches  kept the scheduel  we lost the midnite service... guess it also came from changing religions  sigh .. but no matter what   we do  open one small  gift on CHRISTMAS EVE at home ,and for growing up years the Eve was dedicated to going to friends homes , and Christmas Day was spent at our home w lots of guests... . and big opening ,

My 12 year old always begs for days before Christmas to open something early.  This year I bought them each a Hallmark ornament that they can open tonight (Christmas Eve).

Oh I'm sure she'll be like, "oh man!  I want to open something big!"  she will just have to wait.  Cool

When I was a child, we opened one gift from my parents on Christmas Eve after all of our company left.  Then all the rest of the gifts from Santa on Christmas Day.  As we got older, knew the truth, all the gifts were opened on Christmas Eve and one big gift from "Santa" was opened on Christmas Day.

For my children, everything from us & "Santa" is opened on Christmas Day.  We exchange gifts with Grandma and Grandpa ahead of time, so they get to open those early.
