So, did you do it? I'm willing to bet a lot of you have! Most of us had curfews at some point in our lives and felt that need to rebel. So, you can share it here. We won't judge. Smile

I was the queen of sneaking out.  Living in a 2 story 100 year old home, most stairs squeaked - I had the going from one side to the other mastered.  I always went down to the basement and snuck out the cellar, had it down to a science.  I had a midnight curfew, so would come home from the parties and then be back at 12:45-1a depending on if mom & dad were sleeping again.

However, the ONLY time I ever got caught, a friend was spending the night.  She did not want to go thru cellar, so we went out the window in our pantry.  Well for some damn reason my mom cleaned the window in the pantry within a couple of weeks, she opened it up and there was but cheek marks on the window sill from all the dust.  Well I had to sit there to prove it was bigger than my butt.  Thank goodness she did not remember Jenny spending the night or I would not have had a snowballs chance in hell to get out of that one!

I was from a really really REALLY small town where there was really no need to sneak out.  Along with parents that gave me a really LONG leash and I never really did much wrong.  The only time I snuck out was at a friends house.  Her parents found out and her dad took me home at like 5 am on a saturday because he was so angry.  I never got in trouble for it though

I never snuck out-I shared a room with my lil' sis.  but I was no goody-goody.  I always said I was at friends houses-and one time I stayed out all night my senior year.  That was no fun on the way home that morning my parents were livid!

At 13, Oh yeah, I snuck out few times while living with my mom.  We lived in an apartment, so that wasn't such a good idea.  She heard noises (unrelated to my sneaking out) and figured it out.

My friends mother on the other hand believed anything she said, so even if we did get caught there, she made up the most out there stories and her mom believed her (one time we told her we were sleeping under the bed and that was why she did not see us in the room).

By 14, my mom worked nights and allowed myself and a different friend to stay at our house.  Needless to say, no need for sneaking out, everyone came to our place, always helped clean up and left before mom ever caught home.  Now, I'm sure my mom must have known this was going on, but we have never spoken about it.

By 16, I lived with my dad and did not have a curfew.  Just the understanding that I would call him if I would be late, needed a ride or not coming home.  Most nights, I was home by midnight / 1AM.  Having that freedom took the desire away to even be out late.  Of course, there was the condition that I had to maintain good grades and always worked.

When I was a teenager, we lived in a townhouse.  My bedroom was right above my parents room.  They could hear me rolling over in bed, so sneaking out was out of the question.  My Mom was a very light sleeper.  I was a pretty good kid, never getting into much trouble anyways.  I always asked permission to go out, let my parents know where I was going, and called when I was going to be late.

Yup, I sure did.  But my sneaking out didn't consist of much 'sneaking'  When I came home at my curfew I had to wake up my mom and let her know that I was home.  After I did that, I turned around and walked right back out the door.  Between dad's snores she couldn't hear the door Hahahaha!

At friend's houses there was a couple times we had to use the windows!

Now my parents and I laugh about it!

No, I really never did any sneaking around.  That just wasn't really my thing, and there really wasn't much need for it.  I didn't really have a set curfew- I had to tell me parents where I was going and who I was going with, etc and when I was going to be home.  So they let us set our own curfew, but if you were late without calling and telling them, there was hell to pay! Smile

But yeah, I was never into partying and that sort of thing.  There was really no reason not to tell my parents the truth about where I was and what I was doing.

But like Keri said, there are definitely days now when I would be all about just sneaking out, but it just seems like too much work! Smile

I never really had a cerfew.  And i didnt really sneak out, if everyone was asleep and i wanted to go out, i just left.  I walked right out the front door, but i will admit i made sure i was home before the parents woke up.

I didn't have to because I never had a curfew. But I've got a great story about a 16-year-old I knew. He had a basement bedroom and really strict parents. Every night after his parents went to bed, he literally dug a tunnel out of his bedroom and up into the street....just like a prisoner. It took him months, but finally he was free. He used it all through high school and never got caught.  Smile

Oh my gosh, no! My parents were VERY strict. There were even some CHURCH activities that I was not allowed to attend, such as pool parties. And to make matters worse, we lived about ten miles out in the country. Even if I had managed to sneak out, which would have been unlikely since I shared a bedroom with my sister, I would have had a long walk ahead of me. Then I grew up, graduated college, and moved out into my own apartment. I had my fun when I was in my early 20s. The teenage years, not so much!
