california baby bath products,

bath like powder stuff

oatmeal baths!! these work the  best i'd say but definently switching your bath products to a more natural product will help cut out all the extra crap too.

We are currently using products that are pure as well as safe, ie no animal bi-products, no petroleum,etc...

Excema and psoriosis runs in my family on my husbands side. Hubby has it and so does my son.

You need to switch to fragrance free laundry soap, go all natural with everything. Do you have a sprouts grocery store where you are?? If so they have something called Organics shampoo in graps and different smells. My hubby uses it cause it doesnt have all the chemicals in it that irritate the skin. Head to an organic grocery store. They are everywhere. Have stuff for baby up to an adults. Even have hair color that is chemical free. Found it and used it on my hubby cause he is going grey real bad at 36 yr old. The regular hair dye on the market just caused his skin problem to go nuts. He broke out all over.

Using Oatmeal in the bath is great and soothing for the skin. Use the Eucerin after baths.

Garrett has it to just not to bad thank goodness, but you need to watch the diet alot of acidy food will make garrett brake out, I also would use laudry soap that is mad for sensitive skin, like baby all and also i know this is sorta gross but garrett dr. told me that giving him a bath every day is drying out his skin and olny a bath everyother day. And use organic soaps or the ones for sensitive skin. I really had no luck with the lotions and creams this stuff seems to help keep it from flerring up. good luck.

And keep the baths short to about 5 to 10 min and watch the temperature of the water. Pat the skin dry not rub.

My husband and i take this product called Ky-ani sunrise. It's Blueberry juice and from the testimonials i have read people say that it has helped them with skin conditions. It's all natural drink. You can give it to kids. It is also a muti-vitamin. The website you can go to research and see more about it is http://www.kyani.net/index.php ...  My husband and I love it.

Jacob has eczema too. Our dr pescribed a cortizone cream...it seems to work quicker than over the counter brands. She also said to put vaseline over the cortizone. I have also found a lot of certain clothing and diapers case jacob to break out. The dr said the snaps on pjs contribute a lot to breakouts.....she recommended puting clear nail polish over the snaps.....i  just started buying zip up and pull over instead of snaps....ever since he has been fine. Another big cause are diapers. I bought a big thing of Huggies diapers at costco...and have noticed the back of them cause him to break out on his back....its weird. So i have been putting the cortizone on his back also...and that really helps!

When my son was a toddler his skin was sooo sensitive that the tags in his shirts would cause a bruise or a red mark. We would end up removing the tags cause of it. The bottom of his feet would get really raw and crack n bleed. Dr said he is allergic to the rubber insoles of flip flops or sandals. We were told to look for cork sandals. Nowand days my son has dry patches behind his ears and on his scalp. Oh fun!

Our ped recommended we use cetaphil soap on my daughter's skin. We were using California Baby for hair and skin, but now we just use it as shampoo. Sometimes I think it helps, other times not so much-but that's how I've felt about ALL the things we've used, except for prescription ointment. I'm so curious about the food relation though, like what sorts of things trigger it because everything here is scent-free/natural and it still flares up. I noticed someone said acidic foods...has anyone noticed anything else?

I agree with all the previous replies, especially the ones touting California Baby products, all natural products, and sometimes Cetaphil.  Cortizone creams work well, but keep in mind that they are topical steriods and some of it is absorbed into the body.  Also, corticol steroids are addictive to the body, therefore, there is a "rebound" effect after repeated or prolonged use.  In other words, the eczema may flare up worse than ever if you abruptly stop using the cortizone cream.

Adding to the above great replies, I consume a lot of omega 3, 6, and 9 oils, and also consumed a lot during my pregnancy and breastfeeding.  I also consume a lot of blueberries and feed Tiffany blueberries every chance I get.  My daughter and I have problem free skin, at least so far - knock on wood.

In my experience, wonder foods are kale, blueberries, omega oils, guava, and broccoli.  Minimizing candy and processed carbohydrates in the diet works wonders too.

I wish you luck.

My daughter has eczema on her cheek, and when it flairs up, I keep a little vaseline on it, and in the next day or two, it's gone. (Her doctor said that vaseline was safe to use.)

I am all about trying all natural things rather than medications. Our kids get so many meds now a days it's crazy. SO anytime you can do natural i would say try it first. You never know what you will be surprised with. Mother nature has lots to offer us.
