Hi Heather. I'm pretty sure you are talking about uploading for your gallery or blog? The most likely issue is that there is a 1meg limit on the size of photos to be uploaded. We will be increasing that limit and adding multiple file uploads this week. Let me know if this helps. Incidentally, once uploaded, your photos are automatically resized to be more web compatible when necessary.

Sure. Keep us posted. If you have a photo manipulation application like Photoshop, 700 pixels is a good size for your max width or height for web photos.

Hello Heather, Did you have problems again uploading pics? Pictures over a meg will cause problems on most systems. Reply back if you can't get anything uploaded because of file size, we will help you convert to a more reasonable upload style. Thanks, Travis

Ya, It still keeps giving me the same error. All of my pics are over 1mg. I also just tried to upload a clip art that was under 1mg, but I also got the same error.

If they are over 1meg, they just won't go as it is set now. Is there anyway to reduce the size of them? MS Paint or Photoshop? Cut the pixel size down for web - about 700 pix or so. What format is the clipart? The gallery handles .jpg and .gif, but .bmp wouldn't work. Let me know.

Okay, here is exactly what I just did. I opened my original picture (.jpeg 1.27mb) with MS Paint. I saved as and changed the format to .gif When I went to check my saved pic, it went from 1.27mb to 1.53mb. I'm not sure if thats the way I am supposed to do it. I'm not that good with that kind of stuff:o . I know I have some Adobe Photoshop programs around here somewhere. My mom bought me a couple different programs. I'll have to try and find those when I get some extra time, and see if maybe I can do something with that. Please let me know if I am doing it right. Maybe I am just missing a step. Thanks for all of your help!!!Smile

Here's what you would do with MS Paint: Open Paint Click on 'file' and select 'open' Find the picture you want to work with You don't have to crop if you like the whole pic but if you want to: Select the 'select' tool in the upper rh of the tool box (a little rectangle) Start in the upper lh of the pic and select the square that you want to have as you finished pic (get rid of stranger, cut out extra grass or weird uncle)' Go to 'Edit' and select 'cut' Go to 'file' and select 'new' Don't save the old - it won't get rid of the original Go to Edit 'paste' or hit control V Got to Image and select 'attributes' Change the pixel size to be max 700 - the other dimension will auto resize Save as with name you want - usually leave it as a jpeg Done My technical writing skills leave a lot, and it would be a little different in photoshop, but this should get you started. You might fool around with brightness, contrast and colors too.... Lemme know!

The quick answer, btw, is to open file, select 'image' from the top menu, select 'attributes' and reduce pixel width or height (whichever is larger) to 700-1000 and save. Try that - might be quicker.

Make sure your view is set to the right size. It might not be cutting off their heads, it might just be showing that amount of the crop if you are only seeing 50% of the photo? Glad to help and much respect to you for even working at it!!

I did it!!!!!:D It was much easier with photoshop!! All I did was just crop it, and resaved it in .jpeg format. It went from 1.27mb to 216kb!!! I am so glad I finally got it. It uploaded perfectly!! Now that I have figured that out, when I get some extra time I'll be uploading some more pics!!!:D I'm so excited now!! Thanks for all of your help. If it wasnt for your help, I would probably still be sitting here pulling out my hair trying to figure it out!! Thanks!!:D

Super. Glad that helped. Photoshop is much better than paint in so many ways, as long as your computer has enough juice to run it. Lots of fun filters to try, lots of hue and color tweaks that can really enhance your photos. Great job on all that. We'll watch for the photos. (when you get time!) Smile
