Version II Improvements Brings New Look and Exceptional Features to the Popular Social Networking Site for Parents
PHOENIX, ARIZONA—November 2, 2006—MommyTalk.com, an online social community for parents which launched in late August this year, announced today that Version II of the site is up and running, with a variety of new features and a brand new look.
"The changes we've made are really what will continue to set us apart from other such sites," said Travis Moss, CEO and president of MommyTalk.com. "We've added features that similar sites do not offer. Everything we've done to improve the site is a direct result of listening to our member's suggestions. This site is built for them, so we're excited that we're able to cater to their needs."
Version II improvements and additions include:
- Access to 50 feeds of current and late breaking news, with topics such as world news, entertainment, music, health, politics, religion, parenting, sports, weather and more
- Access to original MommyTalk.com content twice a week, on topics such as general parenting, nutrition and exercise, cooking and more
- Classified section to buy and sell items
- Music capability for all profile pages and new background design options
- Online calendar for tracking personal and public dates
- Capability to download address book to personal contacts
- Option to participate in the MommyTalk.com point reward system, including a chance to enter into the MommyTalk.com Sears Photo Shoot and $500 Gift Card Sweepstakes
- Additional security features, such as the ability to view a list of all the users who view member's pages
- E-mail alerts for new comments or private messages
- Ability to change screen names, set mood and location and to upload several pictures at one time
The site will also soon offer:
- Instant messaging
- Game room
- Videos
- HTML customizable backgrounds
Since launching in August, the free site has offered members a variety of unique, family-oriented services including the ability to create a family homepage with individual, safe pages for kids, the capability to craft and customize profiles, upload photos, set-up a blog, receive e-mail and more.
Almost 1,000 members in more than 40 states and two countries have been using the site, with more joining every day. The site has been referred to as a "MySpace for Moms," although despite its name, the site is a favorite to dads as well.
MommyTalk.com members still have full access to the site and services for free, as the site operates solely on online advertising revenue.
