mother | Title: Re: Potty Training Posted: 3 yearss ago First, find a little potty that is the right size for your child to sit on comfortably. Second, spend some time playing 'sit on the potty' with the child; make sitting on the potty a happy experience. Don't pressure the child to actually pee or poo, just get them happy to be on the potty. Repeat this several times a day. Third, watch your child, and when you see that they my be getting ready to pee or poo, play the 'lets sit on the potty' game. This takes a lot of effort, but after a while they will poo in the potty; and when they do you want to smile and reward them with warm hugs or other things they enjoy, and exclaim, "look babys-name went poo in the potty". Wipe them gently (no cold wet-wipes or other baby shocking experiences!) And keep it up.

Start with short stops on the potty.
Make a game of it: how quick can you hop on the potty.
travisamoss | Title: Re: Potty Training Posted: 2 yearss ago I was just talking to my cousin Ernie today. He lives in Floriday. He is a single dad and does an amazing job of raising his son, Aden. Aden is a really great kid. Loves his dad and is very well behaved. Ernie bought Aden some boxers, just like dad. He told him that it was his turn to wear boxers, but to not get them dirty. Just come to dad if you have to go. He would let him wear the boxers at night, but with diapers in the beginning. Aden would still wake up and go to him at night, so that he didn't mess up his boxers, which his dad wore too. This brought a smile to my face and I had to share.

We are in the process of moving, he changed to a big boy bed, and we have a new baby. He also hasn't seemed to want to. I also don't want to wait too long. Any words of wisdom? [/INDENT]

But only when he decides he wants to sit on the potty. Ususally he will go when it is his idea. he just barely turned two so i don't push it to much only when he decides to do it himself. I don't want to make him afraid of it. When should i start pushing to do it more often? Usually it is about once a week

My girls weren't the best when they were wearing pull-ups. They just soaked them. It's better if you do it in the summer, and yes you will probably spend most of your time staying home. I usually put them on every hour. Get them a potty (my girls never felt comfortable with them they wanted the big toliet). Read books while they are on the potty, sing, make sure you praise them for even sitting on it.

My guy (2 years 3 months) was excited to sit on the toilet at first. We always have books by the side and read while he's sitting there. Sometimes he goes, sometimes he doesn't. He doesn't like to sit on the toilet to poo though. He'll tell me he has to poo and then runs so I cannot catch him to put him on the toilet - or he'll just start running through the house and I know that is what he is doing.

I had to start all over again and he pees in the potty good but just not pooing int the toilet. So good luck to u, just keep it up don't get dissappointed if it does not go as planned.
